RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Hey, Mr Marshall by Saffron A. Kent

Release Date: June 14

At eighteen, Poe Blyton’s life is in shambles and the reason is Alaric Marshall.

After her mom’s death, he appeared out of nowhere and became Poe’s controlling guardian. When she protested his tyranny, he had the audacity to send her away to an all-girls reform school. A school full of iron clad rules and regulations.

But at least she’s graduating soon.

Until Alaric himself arrives at the school as the new principal and takes that away from her as well.

That devil.

He’s really asking for it, isn’t he?

And Poe is going to give it to him.

It doesn’t matter that her sworn enemy has the prettiest dark eyes she’s ever seen. Or that he looks really, really good in his boring tweed jackets. So much so that she wants to rip them off his body and see what’s underneath.

Because scorching hot or not, her new principal or not, Poe is going to ruin Alaric’s life.

NOTE: This is a complete STANDALONE set in the world of St. Mary’s Rebels.

Gah! I really loved this story.

"All through four years. I never took a breath. But now I am. I'm breathing. My fingers are breathing. My heart is breathing because I'm touching him."

When Poe Blyton is fourteen, her famous mother dies and there is no one for her to go to except the mysterious and unheard of Alaric Marshall. Unfortunately, her new guardian seems to hate her, but he refuses to give up his responsibilities. Poe declares war on him, eventually resulting in her being sent to St Mary's - a school for troubled girls. Four years later, she is looking forward to leaving the institution, until she's horrified to learn that she won't graduate yet and has to attend summer school before she can leave. This decision was made by none other than her erstwhile guardian, who is now the new principal. Once again, Poe plots to leave, but things take a very unexpected and surprising turn.

"How is it that she's the bane of my goddamn life and the fire in my goddamn soul?"

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. Alaric was intense, angry and taciturn. He was a man of incredible strength and social power. He appeared dour and unfeeling but still waters run way, way deep! I thought his POV chapters were pretty insightful and revealing. I lived for them! Poe was so miserable at the prospect of spending the summer trapped at the school. I really felt for this young woman who desperately just wanted to be seen and loved. The tension and palpable chemistry between her and Alaric was electric! Due to their circumstances, this was a slow, sizzling burn of a story, but well worth the wait! I was just champing at the bit for their first kiss! LOL. This was a brilliant finale to the series.
