REVIEW: How To Date A Douchebag: The Learning Hours by Sara Ney

How to Date a Douchebag: The Learning Hours by [Ney, Sara]

The Learning Hours by Sara Ney

He's not a douchebag; but that doesn't stop his friends from turning him into one.

MY FRIENDS WANT ME TO GET LAID.

So much so that they plastered my ugly mug all over campus, in bold printed letters:

Are you the lucky lady who's going to break our roommate's cherry?
Him: socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: must have a pulse. He will reciprakate with oral. Text him at: 555-254-5551

The morons can't even spell. And the texts I've been receiving are what wet dreams are made of. But I'm not like these douchebags, no matter how hard they try to turn me into one.

THIS ISN'T THE KIND OF ATTENTION I WANT.

One text stands out from hundreds. One number I can't bring myself to block. She seems different. Hotter, even in black and white.

However, after seeing her in person, I know she's not the girl for me. But my friends won't let up--they just don't get it. Douchebags or not, there's one thing they'll never understand: GIRLS DON'T WANT ME.

Especially her.

So many fans of this series (including moi) have been chomping at the bit for this third book. So many of us had theories about who this book was going to be about, so I absolutely hooted with laughter when I read the dedication!

This book was a fantastic follow-up to the first two books. The author turned stereotypes inside out and delivered a novel that was sweet, amusing, so sexy, and so swoony.

"I'm the last guy women notice."

The hero is such a solid, upstanding, dependable, albeit somewhat awkward guy. He doesn't pretend to be what he isn't. He's real and he's comfortable with the person that he is. Although, he's often adorably clueless! It takes a woman, who is his complete opposite, to discover the man beyond the facade - to learn his heart and soul.

"After dating man-children who care only about two things - sex and themselves - I'm ready to find something more meaningful."

The heroine is matter-of-factly self-aware but hugely likeable, and I adored how the guy made her question everything she thought she found attractive. He's different from any guy she's ever known and he thoroughly piques her interest. In fact, she's been waiting for a man like him to come along, and with a bit of patience and nurturing, shows him through actions what a desirable and gorgeous guy he is.

Both characters absolutely blossom throughout the course of the story, as they learn things about themselves, as well as each other. The hero truly comes in his own and, wowzers, he's totally to die for! The heroine is all heart and so certain that she wants him that she won my heart over completely, too. These two really made me smile and swoon!

Fabulous, heart-melting story!

NEW RELEASE & GIVEAWAY: On A Tuesday by Whitney G

On a Tuesday
by Whitney G.
Publication Date: September 19, 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Second Chance Romance, Standalone
Cover Design: Najla Qamber Designs
Model Credit: Andrea Denver

We met on a Tuesday.
Became best friends, then lovers, on a Tuesday.
And everything fell apart on a Tuesday…

Charlotte Taylor has three automatic strikes in my book:
1) She hates me. She also claims that I’m a “domineering jerk with a huge, overbearing ego.” (I do have something huge. It’s not my ego, though.)
2) She takes our mandatory tutoring sessions way too seriously.
3) She’s sexy as hell…
And a virgin.

At least, those were her strikes before our study sessions started lasting longer than they were supposed to. Until one innocent kiss became a hundred dirty ones, and until she became the first woman I ever fell hard for. Our future together after graduation was supposed to be set:
Professional football for me.
Law school for her.

But she left me at the end of the semester with no explanation, and then she completely disappeared from my life.

Until tonight.

We met on a Tuesday.
Became everything, then nothing, on a Tuesday.
And now it’s seven years later, on a Tuesday…

**This is a full length second chance romance, inspired by Adele’s “When We Were Young”**

ADORED THIS BOOK!!

"The woman had a backbone of steel - I'd known that in the first moment I set eyes on her - but there was also something fragile about her, like all the armor she wore was held together by only a fraying string."

Penelope Carstairs AKA Penna AKA Rebel is one of the Original Renegades - daredevil extreme sports athletes with a clutch of X-Games medals under their belts. A traumatic accident has dented her supreme confidence, and she carries a truckload of guilt around on her shoulders for the way things happened. She's in Vegas looking to reclaim her mojo, away from her Renegade brothers, and in a fit of uncharacteristic faith, she ropes a hot, attractive stranger into helping her. She's never been so affected by any man before in her life.

"Cruz's blatant desire made me feel powerful, intrigued, and turned on - humming with sweet electricity."

Cruz Delgado is in Vegas on a last hurrah before he starts his new job. Penelope is like no one he's ever met before, and there's something broken about her that calls to him. He's lived his life very carefully in recent years, striving towards a particular goal, and he's within touching distance of his plans. Nothing will derail him from his course. However, the beautiful, tempting enigma that is Penelope has him teetering into dangerous territory - in more ways than one.

"How the hell was this possible? How was it that I'd found this extraordinary woman again only to have her completely off-limits?"

They only knew each other for one night. They only knew each other's first name. They were ripped apart without warning. When they saw each other again, there was no way that they could pursue what they had started.

"The anticipation. The war that silently rages in my body between what I want it to do and what it knows isn't safe. The way my stomach tightens and my heart starts to race. The moment the decision is still mine."

This was a stunning final book in this series. The first book, Wilder, won me over completely. Nova was well-written but I wasn't enamoured by the female character. However, Rebel, had my heart ABSOLUTELY MELTING!! Cruz and his Penelope were so connected and so damn gorgeous together! They had a soul-deep connection, and I loved the risks they were willing to take to be together. Their mutual desire was inexorable, passionate and tender. Penna is such a tough cookie - independent and stubborn, and more than capable of holding her own amongst the boys. I loved the way Cruz knew how to treat and handle her to bring out her softness. He understood her so well and was fiercely protective of her. He had so much on the line, yet he was willing to jeopardise all his plans to be with her.

"Impossible to be with you. Impossible to not want you. Impossible to stay the f*ck away."

I found their forbidden love story heart-thumping, thrilling, irresistibly sexy, and just so beautiful and perfect that I didn't want this book to end. Can't say enough good things about it. A must-read for 2017!!

He’s seated at a table in the far corner when I spot him from the door. He’s not hard to miss—not with his purple t-shirt in a sea of black and yellow, and wavy mussed hair. He’s slouching, hunched over his table. Defeated. Tired. My stomach rolls with nerves, nerves that have me rooted to the spot in the doorway, watching him. Just watching. For the entire four minutes I stand here, he sits immobile, studying his laptop, eyes moving along the screen, completely transfixed by whatever he’s reading. Learning. “Just go over there,” I whisper to myself, blowing out a puff of pent-up air. I put one foot in front of the other and begin toward him, spine ramrod straight, steeling myself, prepared for another argument. Twenty feet. Fifteen. Eight. Two. “Hi.” No reply. “Do you mind if I sit here?” I lay my hand on the back of the wooden chair across from him, intending to pull it out. He stiffens but doesn’t lift his head. “Yes I mind.” “Would you mind if I sat at the table next to you?” I’m pushing his buttons, looking for a reaction, but he only spares me a brief glance. Shrugs. “Free country.” I bite my lip to hide a smile, glad he didn’t tell me to take a hike...
