Gaaahh!! These two! There were so many reasons why they shouldn’t be together, but it was as if they were two souls who recognised each other, against their will and in spite of their initial dislike for other another. Magnus was a wholly apt name for someone as magnificent as him! He was incredibly strong of will, which made the savage slow burn so much more riveting. His control was startling but he had a little tell that I found incredibly titillating. However, once he crossed the line, oh my God! His domineering manner was hella hot!! He was FIRE! He claimed her ferociously yet there was an underlying tenderness to his actions. Honestly, he was a compelling specimen of a man in all the ways!! I thought Tinsley was more than a match for him. She had a backbone of steel and a loyal, soft heart. I loved that she didn’t bow to peer pressure, that she was happy to walk her own path and do her own thing. I adored that she wasn’t a brat and was ready to admit when she was wrong. Most of all, she had a will to match that of Magnus. Together they were voracious, intense, and all-consuming. A few years ago, I read the 3rd book in the Marked Men series; Rome, and this was the start of my obsession with these characters. After I had finished reading Rome, I went straight out and purchased Rule and Jet and devoured them. After this point, I made sure to get my hands on all of the rest of the series, and the majority of other Jay Crownover books that were released. I've also always stated that Jay could publish her shopping list and I would still read it!
My favourite Marked Men were always Rule and Asa. I was hooked! So when Jay announced that she was going to be releasing the spin-off series of the next generation, I was both excited and concerned. On one hand, to me these characters are iconic, and I couldn't wait to jump back into that world that I had enjoyed so much, but on the other hand, I was concerned that it wouldn't live up to my expectations of what I remembered. Happily, I can confirm that my fears were wrong!
Now, being a spin-off series, I would highly recommend that you read the Marked Men/Saints of Denver books before this. Although this can be read as a standalone, the back knowledge makes the story a lot smoother.

They were both great, earnest people and I loved the little games Georgia instigated to enable their truths to come out. The only thing that I didn’t massively enjoy was all the British-isms for Ashley. I thought it was slightly overdone but I know how this author adores all things British, so it was also pretty cute.
