I love a story where the author takes you on a real physical adventure, as well as an emotional one.
In this story, we see Yara Marino embark on a journey to Brazil and the Amazon to explore her late father's humble beginnings, as well as see all the good he did for the local community. Not only does she discover some things about her dad, she also faces truths about herself. Throw in Desiderio Gabriel, the hot bartender/tour guide, and the way she views herself and her life will never be the same again.

This was such a lovely story. Yara was brave, awkward, and full of good intentions. She was a cautious city girl scared to try new things, but once she let her guard down a bit and lived in the moment, I enjoyed her new spirit of adventure and her step far outside of her comfort zone. She adapted well and began to really embrace everything she encountered. Her relationship with Rio added another dimension to her growth. He was a genuine, hardworking, caring guy. They had a real spark. Their chemistry was tense and sexy and I loved how he broke his own rules for her. This novella is jam-packed with emotion, fun, and adventure. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I think people are either going to love or hate this book! I loved it! It smacked strongly of Dangerous Liaisons/Cruel Intentions. This story is dark with the author prefacing it with plenty of trigger warnings. The fact that she says "if you meet Dare in the real world, you should run like the wind" says it all!

I don't quite know where to start with this book. It was dark, nail-biting, and kept me on the edge of my seat. Both Dare and Anae are pretty depraved. However, where Dare has an inkling of good in him, Anae is completely sociopathic and beyond redemption. The story is told mainly from Aubrey's POV but the few instances we have of Dare tells me that, in spite of his own sociopathic tendencies, there is a softness in him. He is most definitely wicked and cruel and beyond acceptable, yet I was still rooting for him. Kinda says it all about the author that she can write such a twisted character and I still enjoyed him! LOL. I liked Aubrey - she spoke her mind, and I loved her courage and confidence. She wasn't a pushover but you might be excused for thinking that when she's with Dare. He mesmerised her and clouded her thinking. However, in the end, she made her choice with a clear mind and her eyes wide open. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

My heart hurt so bad for everything that had happened to tear them apart. I felt so helpless for Foster when he explained why he broke her heart. The man was so very much in love with her, and I loved his dogged determination to win her back. He was uprooting his entire life for a chance of forever with her. I really liked Talia - she was such a good person. She had issues at work that she kept to herself, but I felt sorry for her self-doubt. However, even in the face of viciousness, she remained kind and empathetic. The love between them burned bright and their joy was leaping off the page. Loved this story so hard!
