NEW RELEASE & REVIEW: Played by Jen Frederick

Played (Gridiron #4) by Jen Frederick

She's been playing it close...

Ara Martin and college football star Ty Masters have been best friends since the first day of school when Ty literally ran her over. She fell for him immediately, but having lived under the shadow of her famous father, she knows a relationship with irresistible Ty would only end in heartbreak. For four years, she’s kept her feelings hidden. But one drunken encounter weeks before graduation is about to expose Ara’s biggest secret and destroy her most treasured relationship.

He’s been playing for keeps…

Ty is about to be drafted into the NFL, but his personal life is a mess. He’s got an agent he doesn’t like, a brother who can’t stop offering his opinion, and a beautiful woman he craves but can’t have. He can fire his agent and ignore his brother, but he’s not sure what to do about Ara. Ty’s been able to run down every quarterback he’s faced, but his sexy, stubborn best friend keeps slipping through his fingers.

Luckily, he's not one for giving up, and once he gets his hands on her, he's never letting go.

Caroline's Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Loved this NA sports romance!

"I'd wanted her from the first time I saw her, but I let her convince me that we'd be better as friends."

Ty and Ara are the best of friends. Ara's family background makes her skittish about relationships. Ty's own track record is terrible, as football is his first love. From the day they meet, no matter how attracted she is to him, Ara's been happy to be Ty's friend and, four years on, while girlfriends have come and gone, she's the constant his life.

"I was content with being friends. Something happened Bowl night. Maybe it was just a fevered dream...Because Ara's becoming an itch I can't scratch."

However, intimate memories of a drunken hookup plague Ara, intensifying her longing for Ty. The same memories haunt Ty, but he's not sure if they're real. All he knows is that he's not seeing Ara as just his friend anymore.

As various factors in their life are stirred up, both have to re-evaluate what is worth fighting for.

Ty and Ara are gorgeous together! I love how comfortable they are with each other, how much they genuinely care about the other, and I really enjoyed the banter between them. I adored that Ty kept fighting for her and how he knocks down Ara's defenses, and squashes her anxieties and insecurities. They have fantastic chemistry and belong together in every way.

Such a fab, sexy story!
