Title: Faking Ms. Right
Author: Claire Kingsley
Genre: Contemporary Rom/Com
“When I kissed you last night, I wasn’t pretending.”
Everly Dalton is a walking, talking, martini-drinking dating disaster. Forget kissing frogs. She can’t even get past the first date. But at work, she’s a badass—the longest-running assistant billionaire Shepherd Calloway has ever had. Her coworkers wonder how she handles the big bad wolf—and never gets bit.
Shepherd Calloway isn’t interested in being anyone’s sugar daddy. Tired of women who only want him for his money, he swears off dating, determined to focus on running his empire. Until his gold-digging ex hits him where it hurts, putting him in a difficult position.
His solution—to have Everly pose as his live-in girlfriend—is obviously crazy. But the timing is uncanny. It just so happens Everly needs a favor from her boss—a big and awkward one—and this could ensure everyone gets what they want.
Besides, Everly can totally survive a few months of faux romance.
Except there’s a problem. Shepherd is supposed to be a single-minded, unemotional robot boss. Not an actual human with a heart and morning wood. Between the awkward bed-sharing and tingly fake dates, lines are blurring. And as Everly gets to know the real Shepherd, she discovers there’s more to the man behind the bank account.
And faking it gets all too real.

Completely adored this story!
"The guy was practically a robot. Sometimes I figured he dated just to project the illusion that he was human."
Everly Dalton is in complete control of her work life, where she is the most successful assistant to have ever worked for Shepherd Calloway. It's the complete opposite of her disastrous dating life, where she has the most awful first-date luck! When her boss (who never looks her in the eye, never addresses her by name, never says thank you) suddenly makes an unusual request, she finds herself on uneven ground and somewhat disconcerted and off-kilter. When she agrees to his crazy proposition, she begins to discover that he is far from the robot she thought him to be...she's finding him wholly human, wholly distracting, and incredibly easy to fall in love with.
"Everly had me feeling out-of-control, and it was enormously uncomfortable."
Shepherd Calloway is in a bind and the answer to all his problems is his efficient assistant, Everly. He's always been aware that she was attractive, but when she pulls out all the stops to help him, he's suddenly seeing her in a different light - and finding himself inconveniently aroused by her. As they take their charade a step further, he's fighting hard against his feelings but finding it easier and easier to trust her with his most private self.
"The primal urge to take her - to thrust my cock inside her and claim her as mine - had been almost overpowering."
OH MY GOD!! I freakin' loved these two! Everly is such a beautiful person inside and out. She's full of sunshine, goodness, and kindness. She's also incredibly efficient and resourceful. Shepherd is far from the robot that she thinks he is - he has hang-ups but he is also intensely private. I loved the development in their relationship and the feelings Everly evoked in Shepherd. Such a fantastic read! Thoroughly recommend!

"Poor Shepherd thinks he is genetically cold and closed off. Sunshiney, happy Everly is there to help him save face by following his crazy scheme. She shows him that she can be trusted with his true self and helps him melt that cold exterior." ~ Tracy, Book Cravers Blog
