Elisse Bradford had a crush on her older brother's best friend, Thoreau AKA Theo Foster, when she was a kid. He didn't live permanently in Winter Valley, but he came often to visit his grandmother during the holidays. Unfortunately, as they grew older, his visits became less frequent and he wasn't always the nice, thoughtful guy she'd known in her youth. So, she was now more than happy that he was rarely around.
"I press my lips to hers and everything else disappears. There’s no noise in my head. No ache in my heart. Just her and those soft lips and sweet sighs."
Theo Foster lived for racing. He resented his other responsibilities but his sense of duty was strong. Even though his plate was full, he couldn't resist when his best friend, Morgan Bradford, asks him for help overseeing his family's garage. The garage that Elisse has been wanting to work in and manage for a long time. She wasn't expecting him. So, when he turns up, sparks fly!

This story was fun, humorous, and sexy. Elisse was a little firecracker! I loved her toughness but she was definitely something of a people pleaser - to the point that she stretched herself so thin, that something had to give at some point. Theo had been trying to ignore his preoccupation with his best friend's little sister, but once in her orbit, it was much, much harder to look away, especially when they were both aware of the sexual tension between them. I loved that they were both in a similar position in terms of their responsibilities, and finally giving in to their desires, made them both re-evaluate what was important in their lives.
