 Siren is the first book I have read by Hazel Grace, but it certainly will not be my last. This book is part of the Sinister Fairy Tales collection but is also a standalone. The installment is a dark retelling of The Little Mermaid but is as far away from the Disney version that you could imagine.

Siren is a story that literally took my breath away. I love fantasy stories and this one just had everything that you could want from this type of story.

Twisted, dark, sexy, with a great ending. You won't be disappointed.



















 





Hazel Grace is an avid music lover and hardcore Oakland Raiders fan from the mitten state of Michigan. Her writing goals are "what the f*ck" storylines while enjoying her readers private messaging her to cuss her out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

"I was caught in his electric web, arresting and far too complicated to mean anything good."

Kai lives to dance and is ambitious to make it big. When an amazing opportunity comes along to help pave the way to a brighter future, she's dismayed to learn that it would also mean that she has to face her biggest fear of all.

"She was all-consuming, and I couldn't remember the last time I'd ever let anyone get close to me like that, in a way that took hold of my senses and refused to let them go."

Sebastian is signed up for one final run of his own show to fulfill an obligation. He has his job cut out for him when he has to persuade his best bet on a successful show to overcome her fears. Their mutual attraction - and the fact that neither need it in their lives - doesn't really help. However, the pull towards each other cannot be denied.

"I knew it wasn't just my music she'd breathed life into. She'd breathed life into me too."

This was fab read. Kai was a confident, sassy character. I loved her zest for life, in spite of the tragedy in her past, and I admired her courage to face her fears. Sebastian was the cocky bad boy but, underneath it all, he was so caring and protective. He blew hot and cold towards Kai, but he had his reasons. I loved that no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't keep away. They had fantastic chemistry and I loved how the other made life that much better and sweeter.
