3.5 stars - I really loved this author's Meade Lake series, so I was hoping for something similar in this small-town romance.

"We have a heavy history. I don't want to become part of that heavy history. I want to be part of her future."

Overall, I thought it was a good read. I enjoyed the close-knit family background of the Calways, and the way they all rallied around each other. There was so much heat between Lola Calway and Levi Buck, even if it felt like they went from zero to sixty after four years of not seeing each other. I loved the way Levi made Lola feel sexy, beautiful and desired. I didn't love the 'Daddy' thing though...I loved the way Levi adored little Harper and the way he wanted to protect them both.

"I'm gonna make you mine, Lola Calway. And you're gonna stay that way."

While this story was about Lola and Levi's lifelong connection turning into a forever love, I felt it lacked a little something. The thing in Lola's past was dealt with very easily, all things considered. However, I enjoyed how easily the Calways accepted Levi as Lola's guy. He'd always been part of their family, now he was part of it in a different way. This was an easy, sexy read, but the Meade Lake books are still my favourites.
