RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Samphire Shores by Annie Dyer

Title: SAMPHIRE SHORES
Author: Annie Dyer
Series: Puffin Bay #4
Release Date: February 9

I could always ask my roommate for her advice – but then, I’d prefer to extract my own teeth.

I wasn’t expecting my temporary housemate to be Freya. My housemate was meant to be a lot taller, bald and male – not a wispy fairy-like creature with a thing for incense and crystals.

Freya loved meditating. I preferred to code.

Freya adored people. I thought they should be online only, except for special occasions.

Freya was always smiling. I rationed my smiles for birthdays only.

But Freya was only smiling on the outside. My irritating, meditating, meddling, temporary housemate would do anything for anyone, but never herself. Those smiles concealed what was going on beneath, something I first saw when she thought I wasn’t looking, then she let me see inside a little more.

I liked what I saw, although I pretended not to. She thought she had to be perfect. I thought she was perfect already.

Maybe Freya wasn’t my opposite. Maybe she was the piece that fitted in perfectly to complete my future, the one her tarot cards told me was complicated.

I just need to code myself into hers: I want to be the man who makes her smile.

Forever.

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Loved this story! This author’s characters always feel like old friends. They are authentic and real.

"Roe was socially awkward, but in a way that made women - and probably some men - want to be the one to tame him."

When Rowan AKA Roe Holland moves temporarily into a friend's house, he doesn't expect to be sharing Freya Kahan. He thought he'd have the house to himself, and she thought she was going to be sharing with another woman. Things don't get off to a great start, but as long as they stay out of each other's way, it should be fine. However, little by little, they infiltrate each other's lives and, before long, there's no denying their mutual attraction, but neither are looking for anything serious. It's just a housemates-with-benefits thing until Rowan moves out. Until it isn't.

"I thought you were some delicate fairy....I'm beginning to think you're a siren instead."

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Loved grumpy Rowan who was a total marshmallow underneath it all. He was caring and thoughtful and one of life's fixers, and also adorable in his cluelessness when it came to love. Freya was well-named with her lotions and potions. She was skittish due to her recent past but I loved the relationship, trust and support that grew between her and Rowan. The two of them together were gorgeous and hot!

"I was a goner. I could accept that. I just needed to find a way to show her that I was everything she needed me to be."

I just love the people and community of Puffin Bay, and I can't wait to revisit in the next book.
