Julie's Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So glad we got to have more of Jason, and whilst the timeline was immediately after Savior, you do not need to have read Savage and Savior to read this....BUT it does intensify the experience.
Jason was a real sweetheart, not at all like he's described in the synopsis. He was caring, considerate, protective a real honest-to-goodness good lad. He made some mistakes along the way, but only his conscience and heart can steer him through the obstacles he finds himself taking, when he thinks about the job/work he had been doing, working through his own self-opinion.
Then me meet Delilah. She too was a really lovely sweet-natured lady, who had to live with the biggest mistake of her life - walking away from Jason, years earlier.
This is a really lovely second chance love story, keeping you enthralled with some crazy twists and turns.
Jason and Delilah's chemistry was off the charts, and they really had a great time becoming reacquainted.
They were most definitely happy, drunk, high on life, and very turned on each time they were together. They seemed to understand each other's needs and desires.
Individually they were good people, but together they certainly were a force to be reckoned with.
I enjoyed the whole story, and the ending was so sweet.

4.5 stars
This story was a fantastic second-chance romance. The author's words were beautiful and moving. It was interesting to see a totally different side to the mysterious Jason Koster, who featured in the Kingwood Duet.
"My home was never a place, but a person."
Jason has rolled back into his hometown on his sexy Harley, with his life complicated and his soul troubled. He doesn't plan on making his visit a long one. However, when he finds out that his high school sweetheart is no longer married, he can't resist going to see her. Once upon a time, she was going to be his forever. Until she wasn't. And, he's never understood why.
"She still owns me after all these years."
Delilah has never stopped loving Jason but her naivety and trusting ways led her to breaking his heart, as well as her own. Now, she's single again, and carrying her own set of painful baggage.
This story started a tiny bit slowly for me but after a chapter or two, I really got into it. Jason was previously portrayed as ruthless, dangerous and something of a loose cannon, but this story really got into the heart of who he really was. He was a man with a broken heart, who went on to live something of a fractured life.
"We were young. We were naive. We were so damn in love."
Delilah, oh, Delilah! She was so young and so trusting back then. Her gorgeous boyfriend was popular and heading towards a glittering football career. However, her immaturity and her insecurities were fed by jealousy - her own and those of someone she thought she could trust.
"Sometimes it's not the loudest voice we hear, but the soft whisper our heart feels."
The circumstances of their breakup and how they both lived their disparate lives absolutely broke my heart. I keenly felt the loss of their life together. But, their older selves were stronger, tougher, more resilient, and definitely ready to fight for something worth living for.
"My heart was always with you. The beat was just silent until I returned."
The love and passion between them was a beautiful thing - a real contrast to all they had suffered. The chemistry between them was hot and undeniable. I adored the ending.
EXCERPT
I used to think she couldn’t resist me, but she had no problem earlier this week. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to Ms. Noelle. Let’s see if she still can. “I’ll be right back.”
“What?” my mom asks, watching me get out of the car. “Where are you going? The light’s going to turn green any second.”
I keep walking.
She sees me. Even though her pretty eyes are hidden behind big sunglasses, I can figure they’re probably damn wide right now. Reaching for the truck door lock, her finger pushes it down just as I arrive. She can kid herself like that. She knows deep down that I’ll never hurt her, but I might pressure her into giving me a little of her time.
Standing on the other side of her door, I knock. Delilah finally looks up and points at the light. It’s green. I shrug. I make the lame twist of the wrist roll down your window motion with my hand because I have a feeling she might not understand if I pretend to push a button to roll it down.
“Get back in your car, Jason,” she says through the glass.
“No. Roll down your window.” To sugarcoat it, I add, “Please.”
“Why?”
“What do you mean why? I want to talk to you and I don’t want shout through the glass.”
Huffing, the glass slides down slowly. “What is it?” She keeps her hands on the steering wheel and her grip seems to tighten just a bit.
She glances my way, so I say, “I want to see you.”
“You’re seeing me, Jason, so if that’s all there is, I’ll be going no—”
The glass starts to roll up, but I clamp my palm over it. She releases the button and looks up at me. “I don’t know what happened the other day, what turned your mood so quickly, but I’d like another chance for us to talk this time.”
“It’s not a good idea.”
“It’s a great idea, actually. All you have to say is yes.”
“No.”
My smile tilts into a smirk. “You haven’t changed much.”
“Then you haven’t been paying attention.”
