Let's see...where to begin...

I'm inching up on the BIG 4-0. The gray hairs are doubling what seems like daily, and the wrinkles and laugh lines are more pronounced than ever.

I have an amazing husband (Married just over 15 years.)

We have two boys we're doing our best to raise as respectful gentleman.

I have a master's degree in criminal justice which I used to work as a juvenile probation office until deciding to write full-time in June of 2019. So that means there's usually always some criminal/law element to my novels.

If I'm not writing; I'm reading.

My favorite genres recently are bully/reverse harem and enemies to lovers. Maybe I'm reliving my traumatic teen years through the girls who actually end up with the boys. (Not that I would change my history since it's gotten me exactly where I need to be!)

I love coffee. I miss carbs. Music is LIFE. I try not to be too serious.

OMG! Reese and Everly had the most amazing sexual chemistry. They were burning up the sheets and plenty of other surfaces, too! They were so magnetic together that they gave me butterflies. In personality, they were completely different. Sunny, friendly Everly is determined to coax her scowling husband into a more approachable person around town to increase his legal chances. I just adored Everly’s warm nature and her attempts to draw him out. I felt so sorry that deep inside, she was hiding a long-time hurt, as well as trying to overcome her fears from a recent trauma, but I loved the feeling of safety that Hux gave her. Hux, bless his heart, was pretty clueless about his effect on people. That guy definitely needed some social re-adjustment training! LOL. He might have been taciturn and gruff, but my heart felt full with all the little things he did for Everly. In turn, I loved how much light and colour she brought to his life. This was such a gorgeous story and I can’t wait for the next book.

Wow! I really loved Beacon and Grace’s slow-burn romance. Not only was it beautiful and sexy, it was also heart-melting and so much more than just a best-friends-to-lovers story. We got to see the Decker clan, as well as the Aldridge family growing closer together, and also an introduction to Beacon’s bandmates.

”Every time I see her, my entire world brightens. It sounds like the beginning of a romantic song. It’s not; it’s my life.”

Beacon Aldridge and Grace Bradley pretty much grew up together. They have so much in common and a deep, loving friendship. Even now, while they’re both globe-trotting for their music careers, they stay in touch all the time and, back home, they are next-door neighbours. Grace is sick of dating losers and Beacon is struggling with the idea of not having Grace in his life. Eleven years ago, he made a tough choice to give up having more with Grace, but now that he has to live in Baker’s Creek for a period of time, he makes a decision to take his shot at a relationship with the girl he’s always loved.

This was such a fantastic read. I was not prepared for where the storyline went! Beacon and Grace were made for each other and they had a lot to unpack before things moved forward between them. Then we have a whole host of characters, some new, some current, and some beloved old faces from past novels. I loved how the Aldridge brothers are growing into a more tight-knit family and showing how much they care for one another. This story was amusing, sexy, heartwarming, and pretty suspenseful in places. Loved it!

This story picks right up from the first book. Hamilton is drunk and Vera’s heart is broken. As Vera breaks out of her usual compliant shell and steps up as a much stronger young woman, Hamilton is working hard to keep her safe while getting his revenge. There are machinations galore and it’s really difficult to know who to trust, but the one undeniable truth is that Hamilton and Vera belong together.

”I want you on top of me. Beneath me. But more importantly, I want you always next to me.”

I just couldn’t put this book down! I was totally gripped as Hamilton broke his own heart by pushing Vera away. At the same time, I was so proud of her as she stepped up and claimed her independence. There were certain characters that I wanted to strangle and, honestly, even though I knew that our lovers were bound to have a HEA, I had no clue how they were going to get there, as the plot became so entangled. Hamilton and Vera were super-smokin’ hot together! Their chemistry was off the scale. However, it was the tender moments that had me melting, as Hamilton laid his soul bare to Vera. I loved how the plot progressed and the ending brought a few tears to my eye. Such a fabulous duet!!

“You want a goodbye, Hamilton?” I asked as the pain in my chest cracked and all the disappointment flowed out with a vengeance. What even was the truth anymore? Did he care about me? Did he think I wasn’t worth the effort?

He clenched his teeth, the move making his defined jaw harden into a sharp line. “I want a goodbye, Petal.” My heart cracked. I felt cheap. Used. I was done. Done with all of it. Done with the Beauregards. Done with the blackmail. Done with my mother’s guilt. My insecurities. I was done with him. Hamilton then choked out words that softened the blow. “I want you to live your life, Petal. I want you to be happy without me.”

Picking up from the first book, Stroke of Midnight, we see Winston trying to keep his emotions distant from Ash, yet craving her at the same time. His common sense and a couple of people close to him tell him that she has no place in his life, yet he can’t let her go. She’s like a drug – an addiction he can’t quit. Ash has come through her ordeal with the Terror Triplets but she’s keeping a secret from Win. It’s a secret that could cost her a chance of something real with Win.

”Her mouth drives me wild. The things it can do. The words that spill out. The taunting smiles. I’ve never had a woman who edges me toward the cliff of insanity like Ash Elliott does.”
