All Cayson Bexley ever wanted was to fly…
Until a near-fatal crash clipped his wings, sending the injured military pilot back to his hometown and living right next door to me.
From the moment our eyes meet, the attraction is undeniable.
I mean who wouldn’t fall for that achingly gorgeous face, clean-cut demeanor, and sweet, small-town charm?
Other than our mutual love of music, we’re as opposite as two people can be.
Which is precisely why I friend-zone him the moment he shows interest.
But as time goes on, my heart softens to this man who once had it all—a literal hero floundering to find his purpose.
In the midst of my own struggles, I could certainly use a friend.
Heck, I could use more than that.
And I’m not afraid to let Cayson know it.
When I discover my hunk of a neighbor is as shy as he is inexperienced, I offer him a distraction he can’t possibly refuse.
We already share a very thin wall.
Why not a bed too?
There’s only one catch: he’ll have to promise not to fall in love with me…
A no-strings hook-up is every man’s dream, right?
What could possibly go wrong?

I love this author and I love this series, but I must say that I struggled a little with this final book.
I've been looking forward to Cayson Bexley's story. I found him to be adorable and gorgeous. He was sweet, loyal, thoughtful, and innocent in a lot of ways. His purpose in life - being in the Air Force - was lost to him after his accident. However, even if he felt somewhat adrift, he was still forward-looking and thinking of what his future might hold.
From the moment he met Olivia Jade, he was captivated by her. It was practically love at first sight, but her type was toxic rockstars who didn't want to commit. And, here is where I had a big problem with the story. She had broken up with her not-boyfriend, Tyler, and hopeful that things would change between them. In the meantime, she felt drawn to Cayson but friend-zoned him because he wasn't her type. When she finds out he's inexperienced, she vows to teach him everything but he's not supposed to fall in love with her. This is the guy who actually asked her out on a date. I couldn't reconcile her behaviour with him while she was almost biding her time to be with Tyler again. Yet, she had little niggles of jealousy over Cayson, but chose to stuff them down deep instead of being truthful with herself. I grew madder and madder as I kept on reading. Halfway through, I felt done with Olivia but I kept reading the rest of the way because I'm not a quitter! And, I'm glad I did. I loved how stoic Cayson was and the fact that he knew his own worth and wasn't about to settle for less once he'd declared his true feelings, so Olivia had to work to get him back. The other sticking point for me was that I disliked her nickname for him, CayBear. All I kept saying in my heard was CareBear. LOL. It didn't gel with me - he was a hunk of guy and I kept picturing a pastel teddy bear in my head!
Gaah! I can't tell you how much I wanted to love this book, especially as it's the final one. Cayson was flippin' wonderful, but Olivia was kinda short-sighted, stubborn, naive or just in plain denial. Maybe even a little patronising in her superiority that she could teach him a thing or two, but Cayson took her by surprise. There's no denying that this book was a hot read, and Cay and Liv had chemistry for days. 🔥🔥
I loved seeing Cayson's brothers, their camaraderie, and how they supported one another. I loved that they got closure with their past, so they could all move forward with the burden of their emotional baggage lifted off their shoulders. The ending was pretty wonderful.
