I loved this story so much.
"You've woken me up, Sam. For the first time in years, I feel like I'm wide awake. I don't want to go back to sleep. I want to hang out with you in the light."
Samantha and Nate were *chef's kiss*. I adored them as individuals but they were magic together. Samantha had her struggles with family and self-esteem. Nate was stoic with his battle with mental health. What started out as fake dating, turned into something very real, which scared them both a whole lot, as neither thought they were ever going there with anyone again. I enjoyed how they had been in each other lives for years but never really knew one another. It was a life-changing revelation for them how well they connected and their chemistry was a live thing!
"Let's always be real with each other. The good, bad, ugly, let's love all of it. Let's know each other to the very core."
My heart broke for Nate and how he carried his mental burden. He was a beautiful soul and just so darn good for Samantha. They fit each other so well. I absolutely loved the bond he had with his brothers - the banter between them all made me chuckle. Samantha was bright and independent but craved to be truly seen by her horrible family. Her best-friendship with Adrian was a thing of beauty. They were solidly ensconced in their relationship with one another and supported each other endlessly. I loved that Adrian thought there would be no better man for her than his big brother. Fabulous read!
