It has been a while since I've read any paranormal fiction and after reading this I was reminded was I actually love this genre!
This is the story of Addie, a human girl training to be part of the Red Guard, which no female has ever done. She is in her last year of the academy and working side by side with Fae and Vampyrs.
This reminded me slightly of the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, Addie is a strong a feisty heroine, with a soft side, especially for her friends. This was a fab read for anyone who loves this genre with lots of twists and unexpected turns. I thought some parts were unnecessary to the story and I found the chapters jumped about a bit but it doesn't affect the flow of the story.
I am really looking forward to jumping into the next book in the series to see what happens for Addie.

Carrying on the story of Addie, this book sees her going to hell and back and proving how strong she is of a person to survive everything she did. I personally found this book a lot slower to read than the first but still enjoyed the story, and I am eager to see what else is in store for Addie, Xander and the rest of the characters.
Again this was well written and the characters were well developed and likable. These books have definitely reignited my love of paranormal books, and I can see myself reading more of the genre in the close future.

There is only so much one person can endure before they break. There was nothing I ever wanted less than to be Princess at the Royal Court. Another great read in the series. I am really beginning to feel as if I know these characters like family after reading the books back to back and will be sad to finish the series, as it really has reminded me of how much I have missed reading this genre of books and how I plan to continue reading some in the near future, as well as checking out more of Sloane Murphy's work as I have really enjoyed the style of writing in these books.

Rapture, The Immortal Chronicles #4 The Final Installment I never wanted to lie to her, but I knew I couldn’t keep her safe if she knew.
I hurt her, more than I ever wanted to and I have to live with that each day that I’m away from her. But one day she’ll know, that every day spent away from her was hell.
Watching her move on.
Watching her change.
But it will all be worth it once she’s safe.
Even if she doesn’t know it, she is my Rapture.

A great ending to a great series. I am so glad I decided to take a chance with these books as I really enjoyed them and I will genuinely miss the characters. I think this is definitely a series that I will need to reread again slowly to take in parts of the story I might have missed.
