Title: Third Base
Author: Stella
Genre: Sports Romance/Friends-to-lovers
Release Date: November 2, 2017
Blurb
First base: kissing.
Second base: above the waist.
Third base: below the waist.
Home run: no explanation needed.
Every baseball player knows to keep their eye on the ball and swing for the fences. Each base counts, but a home run is the goal. No one wants to strike out. This is true both on and off the field.
Ellie Teller had been my best friend since we were born, and we had a plan—get out of the tiny Alabama town we’d grown up in and go to college…together. But even life’s best-laid plans could throw a powerful curveball. Rather than attend classes, I was now the starting pitcher for a Major League team.
While my game-day stats were impressive, my record with women was less desirable. I was the professional baseball player who hadn’t been able to make it past third base since the one and only night I’d played hardball with my best friend.
But when the bottom of the ninth came to a close on my career, I had to decide if our friendship was worth more than a few extra innings.

Caroline's Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a heartwarming, slow burn, friends-to lovers romance.
Ellie and Coby have been neighbours and best friends since the cradle. No one has ever understood their relationship, nor believed that they were always platonic yet vital to the other's life, state of mind, and happiness. They were kindred spirits in every way.
"She told me the turning point in my life had been during the semi-finals our senior year of high school. But it became obvious to me, sitting here with the heat of her palm soaking through my jeans, that this, right now, was our turning point."
This story charts four years of their history from senior year, as Coby takes the first step towards Major League baseball stardom. It follows their lives living separate from the other, and their growth as individual people, learning to be just Ellie and just Coby.
"I'd never seen him look at me the way he did at that moment. It was almost hungry but hedonistic, as though he'd waited his entire life to share this moment with me."
It was a very believable story. Their friendship was envy-worthy - their closeness, respect for one another, and belief in one another was beautiful to see. I loved their connection and the banter between them. The support they gave each other throughout their lives was heart-melting. The evolution of their friendship into something more was credible, and I thought the authors did a great job of portraying it.
