Liam Edenhoff is the life and soul of the party. He's enjoying life and having a great time flitting from woman to woman, and eating tacos! Nobody really knows the real man under his fun, somewhat adolescent, exterior.

Ayumi Nakada is a prim-and-proper ice queen. She's brilliant and efficient at her job. She's mastered the art of dissembling, so nobody really knows what she's thinking or the real woman under the stern exterior.

One night on the town just to prove her boss wrong, Ayumi shows Liam a rarely-seen side of herself...and he finds that he can't quite get her image out of his mind. When Ayumi proposes a friends-with-benefits arrangement between them, his mind is completely blown.

This was such a fantastic story! I thought it was heartfelt, sexy and amusing. The author really dug into the psyche of her characters. They were complete opposites, but also so alike in so many ways. I loved the push-and-pull of their relationship. Ayumi's situation really pulled at my heartstrings, and I absolutely enjoyed her journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. She was a strong person with a core of fragility. Liam is a sweetheart! I loved how well Ayumi knew him and understood who he really was. I loved that she could see past his happy-go-lucky exterior to the insecure person beneath. Their relationship was real and beautiful, and sometimes painful.

Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.
