Title: Stealing Cinderella
Series: Sinister Fairy Tales Collection
Author: A. Zavarelli
Genre: Dark Fairy Tale Retelling
Release Date: April 2, 2020
It should have been simple.
Go to the ball, meet the prince, and secure his patronage for my favorite charity.
But beneath the mask, the brooding beast of a man was not at all who I expected.
He was dark and intense and eerily quiet.
When I left, I could still feel the ghost of his touch branded into my skin.
He haunted my dreams, but I never expected to see him again.
Then he came for me.
And he took me.
And I learned that his darkness was a void I never could have conceived.
He’s the crown prince of Norway.
And, now, I’m his captive.
Claire's Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Stealing Cinderella is part of the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection and can be read as a standalone with no problem, however, the collection is amazing, so I would recommend that you read all books prior and after this one.
This novel is a sinister take on Cinderella and takes on a much darker scenario. Ella lost her mother as a little girl, and her father was murdered trying to protect her from a group of muggers. Living with her stepmother and stepsisters her life is full of slavery and abuse, her only escape is the time she spends volunteering at the animal shelter. That was until the shelter is threatened with closure and Ella is desperate to save it.
Taking her friend's ticket she manages to go to the masquerade ball held by the Prince, to try and convince him to keep the shelter open.
I really enjoyed this retelling and felt myself needing to know what would happen page after page, despite the fact that the story followed accurately with the original, yet different as well.
I am really enjoying all the retellings in this series and I cannot wait to see what the next one has in store for us.
