Wanted: American nanny for an adorable four-year old. Must be able to handle a moody, brooding, sexy British boss.

I'm a single father, a lawyer and some say the most serious man in London. I'm completely focused on raising my four-year-old daughter.

Since my wife walked out three years ago, the only woman who has ever caught my eye is the strictly off-limits sister-in-law of my best friend, Autumn Lumen.

But temptation is easy to resist because Autumn is only visiting London from Oregon.

Until she moves to London. The nanny quits. And she's the only woman for the job.

Mr. Smithfield is a stand-alone romance.

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Feels like a long time since this author's last release so it’s wonderful to see that she's back, with guns blazing, with this sexy sizzler of a story.

”My need for her had developed over the months like fine wine, and all the fantasies I’d had of her funneled into this one moment.”

Gabriel Chase has been burnt in love but his little girl is his whole world. He’s gorgeous but serious and works really hard. When the beautiful Autumn Lumen comes into his life dripping sunshine and musicals, he finds her like no other woman he’s ever met. She’s wonderful with his daughter and she gradually works her magic on him and his heart.

”Nothing is all good, all the time. It’s in the shades of grey that we learn who we are.”

Autumn likes to put a brave face on things. She is a naturally optimistic person and often sees the silver lining in clouds. However, there are times when she really needs to search for it. Falling in love with Gabriel was never part of her plan to experience the world, but there was no denying the natural frisson between them. As she grows attached to him and his cute daughter, she’s having second thoughts about all her plans.

"I think you’re full of life…You breathe life into me.”

There were so many reasons why Gabriel and Autumn should keep away from each other but their chemistry was blinding. For a pretty serious and moody guy, Gabriel was hella hot with a dirty mouth to match. I found him absolutely thrilling when he let his guard down with Autumn. She was such a delight and so likeable and genuine. My heart hurt for her and the things she hid behind her smiling face and happy-go-lucky demeanour. The one tough decision she made in this story had me yelling “No!” but I was rooting for her and Gabriel all the way. This was such a fabulous read and so excited to see one of my fave authors on form, as usual. It was fun to see the rest of Gabriel’s ‘brothers’ and I’m so looking forward to their stories.
