When he moves back to town after being gone for five years, he tries his best to stay away.

But there she is at his CrossFit gym. Then having a baby on the side of the road. Oh, and breaking him a little more with each step she takes away.

Eventually, they find their way back to each other. The only problem is, by the time that Mavis makes her way back into his heart, it breaks. And not in a rhetorical way. In the ‘he only has days to live’ kind of way.

All. The. Feels!! This is the most emotional book I've read by this author. My God! I couldn't stop the tears.

Mavis Pope and Alessio Murphy Romano were the best of childhood friends – they adored each other. Until, one day, Murphy and his mother were thrown out of her grandmother’s estate and were never seen again. A couple of decades later, they are back in Paris, Texas, and Murphy is bleeding animosity towards Mavis. No matter how hard she tries to avoid to him, he always seems to be where she is. No matter how hard he tries to stay away from her, he can’t help being drawn into her orbit. However, the day Murphy delivers her baby by the side of the road, things start changing significantly between them. Mavis starts living the happiest days of her life, only to realise that Murphy might not be in her life forever.

Seriously, this story! It tore me inside out. I was banking on the author to give us a HEA but it didn’t stop me feeling all kinds of emotions. Mavis was a spitfire – she was incredibly strong, holding all her stresses close to her chest. When she finally broke down, I cried right along with. She and Murphy were gorgeous, sparky, and passionate together. My heart truly broke as the story was reaching its conclusion because….things happened!! Honestly, no spoilers, just go and read this book. Loved it!
