This author has a real gift for writing romcom with a touch or more of angst.

Autumn Wickerton is a widow with three jobs, school, and a young daughter, Matilda, who is precocious and sharp as a tack. Zachary St James is a widower who owns a chain of coffee shops and has something of a saviour complex. Both are sometimes lonely but neither is looking for love or willing to risk their hearts again, no matter how much their families urge them to move on from their losses. When Zach's interest in Autumn is piqued, he decides to search up his childhood best friend's younger sister to see if he can help her out. However, maybe the savior is the one who ends up being saved?

"We fit just right. I don't want to own her or possess her. I want to fuse with her."

This author is known for her angst-ridden novels, but I believe she really excels at romcom, too. The banter between her characters is always witty, unpredictable, and never cheesy. Autumn and Zach had a fabulous connection. Autumn is a hardworking mother, who adores her daughter. Zach is a guy who spends a lot of time travelling and helping others, instead of dealing with his issues. I loved how well they clicked together - partly due to their previous history as kids, and partly due to their mutual instant attraction. They were sexy and passionate together, however, their understanding of each other is what made my heart melt. I adored Zach's fondness for Matilda (who was an absolute hoot!) and his desire to make her happy, as well as make her mother happy. This was a fab, feel-good, humorous romance. Loved it!
