RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Last Resort by Amelia Wilde
Last Resort by Amelia Wilde is now live!
Emerson LeBlanc lost more than an acquisition. He lost the woman he loves.
There's no redemption for a man with his past. No future for a relationship built on stalking and kidnapping. At least that's what he believes. When he meets Daphne again, she's not a piece of art. She's a woman determined to paint a new path. For herself. For him. Except the ocean holds more than shadows. It holds danger that could ruin them both.
Caroline's Review 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I've used this word in my review of the first two books but visceral is still so appropriate. The imagery and the emotions were visceral and real. This was a stunning conclusion to the trilogy.
"She is not art. Or - she is more than art. More than an obsession. She's everything. Breathing, living love."
The last book ended pretty dramatically and this story picks up in the aftermath. We see the extent of how debilitating and crippling Emerson's issues are, and his determination to overcome them in order to keep Daphne safe. We also see how Daphne's eyes are opened to some truths of the past.
"Where would I have gone, little painter? You're the whole world."
Emerson and Daphne's love was obsessive and all-consuming and I was captivated by how much they needed one another to function. It sounds complete unhealthy (!), however, the way the author portrayed their love was beautiful, poetic, and hugely elemental to their well-being. They breathed life into each other's world. Both Emerson and Daphne's upbringing was wrought with trauma and fear and, honestly, they cope as best their can with the mechanisms they have in place. It's really pretty tragic and I was just so happy that they found a love that brought them so much joy, peace and understanding. A fantastic trilogy!
