BLURB

I found love where I wasn’t supposed to find it…

The night I met Mr. Granville, he was slipping out of my mother’s bedroom.
She was passed out drunk and I was on my own, but that was nothing new. It wasn’t even the first time one of her boyfriends looked at me for a little too long—just the first time I felt anything like interest in return.
My mother and I had never been close, but I knew I had to pretend not to notice his hot gaze lingering on me when he was supposed to be there to see her, had to resist the temptation to lap up all the attention he offered me.
Until the one night I didn’t.

After they broke up, I thought I’d never see Milo Granville again.
But my less-than-impressive grade in chemistry had me striking a deal with his brilliant son: he would help me bring up my grade, and I would pretend to be his girlfriend so he could get the attention of the girl he actually liked.
Pretending to date the youngest Granville has me spending a lot of time with the Granville men, and while he loves having me around again, seeing me with his son is not something Mr. Granville enjoys.
He seems determined to remind me of the night that changed everything between us…
As if I could ever forget.
Milo is devilishly handsome and too commanding for his own good, but I have to resist the attraction raging between us.
Too bad Mr. Granville is just as intent on tempting me at every turn.

Oof! This story was hot AF, but also hard to read at times. I think people will either love it or hate it. Part of the Blurred Lines series and, I'll tell you now, the lines in this book are so blurred that my eyes went cross-eyed!

"All Milo wanted was to be there for me in the only way he knew how, and I...I pushed him away. Shoved him. Literally. I ruined everything."

Kennedy is a girl crying out for love and care. Her mother is a deadbeat who hooks up with deadbeat men. Milo Granville seemed like the jackpot and he made his move on Kennedy. Months later, Kennedy begins a friendship with his son, Jet, who's the same age as her. This brings her back into Milo's orbit. It also brings her into Jonathan's orbit. That's Milo's college-aged son. As things progress between Milo and Kennedy, a horrible trauma has Jonathan rescuing Kennedy, and that's when things start to go completely off-piste.

I wanted to love this book hard as I adore this author. While it was hella hot, the storyline took us in a direction that I wasn't expecting at all, and I had mixed feelings about it. Although the dynamics in this story was handled pretty well by the author, if you're looking for a raw but romantic read, this isn't it! However, those Granville men were all different but interesting. Milo was the protector and safekeeper of hearts. Jonathan was the straight-talking guy who will give a girl what she needs. And, Jet was a genius sweetheart with a truly diabolical brain! Then there's Kennedy. I had such mixed feelings about her. I felt sorry for her and the life she had. After her trauma, I kinda hated what she did but I get why she needed it, but it didn't make it easy for me to reconcile with her decision. I felt that she could be self-centred, needy and bratty, but her heart was vulnerable and her trust in good things was fragile. Overall, it was a well-written story. It was super hot, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes joyful. I really enjoyed the ending and, like I've already said, that Jet was diabolical!
