Fun romcom read about enduring love and with a cast of quirky characters.
"We weren't together anymore because we had loved each other too much."
Chris and Lexi met at college and were so in love that they thought they could ride out a long-distance relationship, while they each pursued their dream careers, as long as there was a promise that they would be together again someday. However, life had other things in store for them.
"She's my future - always had been. And without her, I don't have one."
When Chris returns to Atlanta, he's ready to find his Lexi again but there's no trace of her. Imagine his surprise when she walks into his office.
Lexi wasn't prepared to meet Chris again. She's not the same girl he knew before - not least because she has a secret alter ego. Chris is patient and determined that Lexi is his future, while she fights her feelings for fear of disappointment.
"Her lips. They were the last ones I'd tasted. And if I had my way, the last ones I'd ever taste again."
This was a great story filled with misunderstanding, a bit of angst, and plenty of comedy. There is an inevitability about Chris and Lexi. Chris is a super guy, seemingly stuck between a rock and a hard place. Lexi comes across as stubborn in her denial of Chris.
Their friends were a hoot! They drove me nearly to the point of madness with their craziness and their cryptic speech!
Overall, a fun story with a funny ending, too!

a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of
females.
The
decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to
go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most
importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.
