Evangeline Thorne is privileged.

Beautiful and popular, if not a little jaded.

A chance encounter with a green-eyed stuntman sets off a chain of events that turns her perfect, little world upside down.

Short on options and desperate for adventure, she joins the traveling carnival for the summer.

Thrust into a world full of drama, deception, and secrecy, Evangeline tries to find herself and protect her heart in the process.

Sebastian McAllister is cursed.

He knows better than to think otherwise.

He’s content to live out the rest of his life traveling the country as one of the four Sons of Eastlake, seeking thrills the only way he knows how.

The one thing he doesn’t see coming is the spoiled blond with stars in her eyes.

The only problem is, the more time he spends with her, the more hope starts to stir in his dormant heart.

Too bad hope is a dangerous thing when you’re a McAllister.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oh, wow! LOVED this story!

"The most dangerous men are the ones with nothing to lose."

When Evangeline "Evan" Thorne first meets Sebastian McAllister, she was trying to evade her parents' ever watchful, suffocating presence. However, her little adventure is the catalyst that forever changes her life. Fated to meet again and again, when Evan's life falls completely apart, with nowhere left to go, she runs away with the carnival, and imposes herself on the curt but gorgeous stuntman.

"She's self-assured. Assertive. Insolent, even. But when I touch her, I see another side to her."

When Sebastian first meets Evan, he's drawn to her innocence and purity - she's also jailbait. Determined to live life to the fullest on a day-by-day basis, he fights hard to keep her at arm's length. She's an uncomfortable temptation. She's an impossibility for him; a dream that will never come true. He doesn't want to want her, but he also doesn't want anyone else to want her.

"Something about Evan has hope stirring in the pit of my stomach, but it isn't comforting."

This story gave me butterflies. It was tight with sexual tension, as well as mystery. Evan is brave, determined and pushy. She's also crying out for love and attention. I loved her strength in overcoming adversity; her fire to survive and live life on her own terms. Sebastian is the best kind of broody hero! He's raw and sexual, and I loved his intense lust for Evan. I also loved the vulnerability that lurks beneath his devil-may-care surface. He almost comes to care for Evan against his volition, so his hot-and-cold behaviour confuses her. His fight against his feelings is real.

This was such a fantastic read. There's an element of the forbidden, sizzling chemistry in spades, a dash of mystery and danger, all set against a colourful background of a carnival. LOVED IT!!
