REVIEW: With This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas

With This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Jesse Ward is back in the newest novel in the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling This Man series!

Life is good for Jesse 'The Lord' Ward. Perfect, actually. He still has the charm, he's in great shape, and he still reduces his wife, Ava, to a pool of desire with a mere look. He's in full control, just how he likes it.

But Jesse's perfect world falls apart when a terrible accident lands Ava in hospital with a life-threatening head injury. Devastated and angry, he feels like his entire existence hangs in the balance. He cannot survive without this woman's love. So when she finally comes around, his shaking world begins to level out. But his nightmare doesn't end there. It's only just begun. Because his wife can't remember the last sixteen years of her life. That's all of him. All of their time together. He is a stranger to her.

Now Jesse must do whatever it takes to find her memories . . . and help her fall madly, passionately in love with him all over again.

Julie's Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I knew it was going to be an emotional rollercoaster of a read from the blurb, and JEM most certainly did not disappoint.

Absolutely thrilled to be back with The Gang, seeing how they have all been getting on with their lives, and I felt like I was having a reunion get-together with old friends.

He was his usual Jesse self, with his control and his demands, but I really felt we got to see a much more softer Jesse. We all know how passionate his love for Ava is, and also for his children, who turned out to be sweet, good kids, and not bratty or spoilt as they so could have been!

Heartbreakingly beautiful with how they both dealt with Ava's amnesia. I can't even begin to imagine waking up thinking I am 16 years younger - OMG! Finding myself with an older body! Jesse really struggled with having to relearn Ava's mind - no need to relearn her body, he already owned that!

Loved seeing Kate and Sam, plus Drew and Raya, continuing to live so freely, and great to see Big John find himself a lady friend. John has always been a major factor in Jesse's life, and I am pleased to see he still has a very strong presence, not to mention influence.

JEM threw some humdinger curveballs in With This Man. I felt that she did 'Older' Jesse justice - he hated hitting a big milestone birthday, but he did it with his typical 'Jesse' grace in the way only he knows how!

There were all the feels in this book: the highs, the lows, the good, and the bad - with their love prevailing above it all.

Jesse didn't disappoint with the overprotective dad to his teenage daughter; there were some really funny moments, especially the school disco...

This was my very own tub-time - loved getting all the info on Jesse and Ava.
Soaking Ava and Jesse up, whilst soaking in the tub!
