Adored this story! This author is the Queen of Angst but I'm absolutely loving her lighter romantic reads! And, even this one still made me shed a few tears! LOL

Miller Archer needs a date for his sister's wedding. When his plus one bails on him, at the last minute, he bumps into one of his star employees, Claire Solis, at the airport and he has a light-bulb moment. She's perfect. Beautiful, sassy and going to the same destination as him. The frisson of attraction between them is definitely a bonus.
"I needed him to fill me, to claim me, to tell me I was his - just like he was mine."
Claire really needs a vacation and the last person she wants to see is the big boss of her company. However, a little bribery goes a long way and, before she knows it, she's playing his fake girlfriend. What starts out as a platonic pretend thing turns into something hot and, before the weekend is over, they make plans to move forward together. Unfortunately, things start to fall apart very quickly.

A couple of years later, they are rivals. Claire wants her revenge, but Miller only wants HER. Unfortunately, he's got his work cut out for him.
This story was originally a novella that was part of the Spring Fling anthology and I was thrilled to get a full length story about Claire and Miller. Claire is strong, courageous and confident. She's not afraid to push her boundaries. She's a good person and generally only has people's best interests at heart. Miller has been burnt by love in the past, which makes it difficult for him to trust women. In his heart, he knows Claire is one of the good ones and one mistake cost him his happiness - a happiness he wasn't even looking for. However, I loved how hard he fought for her when she was back in his life. Their story was sweet, super sexy, amusing and also emotional. Loved it!
