From the breakthrough international multi-million copy bestselling author of THE GIRL IN THE ICE,
this is a breathtaking, page-turning novel about a disgraced female
detective’s fight for redemption and survivall. Kate Marshall is a
brilliantly complex protagonist and the hero we all need, the response
from other authors and early NetGalley readers has been incredible:
'Twisty, dark and layered . . . A superb start to what promises to be another stand-out series'
M. W. CRAVEN
'Gripping from start to finish. I will wait with bated breath for the next Kate Marshall thriller'

‘Robert
Bryndza’s characters are so vividly drawn—even the slightest
character—and fully human and uniquely imperfect. His plots are clever
and original and cool and his sense of timing is excruciatingly
flawless. Nine Elms is Robert Bryndza spreading his already formidable
wings to thrilling effect’
AUGUSTEN BURROUGHS
‘A masterpiece in crime fiction’

Claire's Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nine Elms is the first book in the Kate Marshall series. In 1995, Kate was involved in the catching of Peter Conway, the Nine Elms killer. However, the case wasn't the career breaking situation it should have been as Kate had slept with Peter and was pregnant with his son.
Moving on fifteen years later, Kate is now a lecturer at University, and mother to Jake who was brought up mainly by Kate's parents because she struggled to cope with her past and turned to alcohol.
Malcolm and Sheila Murray contact Kate after the police give up on investigating the disappearance of their daughter Caitlyn, as they are convinced that Caitlyn was another victim of Conways.
Although, I found this novel very slow in parts, but despite that I really enjoyed it. I feel the author was setting a lot of groundwork up for Kate and her backstory to set the series up and any subsequent books, won't require such depth.
Definitely a very solid start to this series and I am looking forward to seeing where this will go.
