Striker by Rachel Leigh is now live!
Two wrongs don't make a right. But try telling them that.
Marni
I wasn't supposed to be at that house.
I should have never wandered away from the party.
And I definitely shouldn't have pressed my ear to that door.
The words I heard play in my mind like a record on repeat.
Now, they want my silence.
The four guys who terrorize the halls of Redwood High as a sport will stop at nothing to make sure that my lips are sealed.
What they don't know is that I refuse to go down without a fight.
Talon
Marni Thorn thinks she's holding all the cards.
She believes she's harboring our secret.
Little does she know, it wasn't ours to begin with.
We made a rule that she's off limits.
But a body like that is meant to be touched.
Limits are pushed, and rules are broken.
But one things for certain, I have my little rebel right where I want her.
Caroline's Review

Eeek! This book was pretty dark for me but, seriously, I couldn't put it down.
"The way his body is ghosting me at this moment makes me want to invite him to take all of me. To possess me. To corrupt me - mind, body, and soul."
Marni Thorn was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She thinks she has one over on Talon Porter and his posse, but little does she know that it's just the tip of the iceberg. Even in her desperation to be free of them, she can't help her compelling attraction to Talon. She's a pawn in their plans but, once she finds out a few truths, does she really have the choice to walk away or not?
"You're smart to fear me, but you'd be a fool to deny me."
This book was incredibly intriguing. There were so many secrets and revelations and still unanswered questions by the end of the story. The chemistry between Marni and Talon was uncontrollable and greedy. In spite of his plans, I loved how Marni affected Talon - someone whose heart hadn't been affected by finer feelings in a very long time. My heart broke for all the pain and horror he'd suffered, which made his tender feelings for Marni that much more beautiful. Marni herself is pretty lost and alone, in spite of the tough-girl façade she wears. In each other, they found someone to fill the empty places in their souls. I'll be honest and say that I thought this book was uncomfortable reading at times, which contrasted starkly against the more heartfelt moments. It was a dark, raw and fascinating read, and I can't wait for the next book.
