RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: In Winters Past by Taylor Danae Colbert

Release Date: November 20

From the time I can remember, it was always the three of us. Me, Tommy, and Shane.

We were young, doing things we shouldn't have been doing.

They say the water here in Meade Lake freezes four feet deep.

But that winter had been unseasonably warm...

After we lost Tommy, Shane packed up and moved on, leaving me to figure it all out by myself.

To figure out who I was without my two best friends.

But now, Shane is back in Meade Lake. He’s changed, but under that cold, hardened exterior, I can still see a hint of my best friend.

The boy I once loved.

We’re reliving our glory years, laughing at the memories, sorting through the pain. And each time, he stands a little bit closer, lingers a little bit longer.

But with every touch, I feel that ice-cold barrier form around my heart.

He showed me once that he could walk away and never look back.

I can’t give him that chance again.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Another wonderful and emotional read from this author.

"I want to take all the time in the world when it comes to you."

Jules Grey has lived the past eleven years without her best friend, Shane Hunter. He'd graduated early and left town without saying goodbye after a tragic accident. Now, he's back for this brother's wedding and looks like he wants to pick up the threads of their old friendship, but she's resistant. She's worked hard to move on without him and having him back in her life, after he cut her out of his, is beyond hard. However, it's difficult to deny the old easiness and multitude of memories - good and bad - between them, as well as the chemistry that was always present when they were teenagers. Unfortunately, he has a job to return to on the other side of the country, so she needs to be very careful with her heart around him.

"My body wants him, but so do I. I want him to hold me, kiss me, talk to me, listen to me cry. I want more."

I'm crazy about this author. She has been one of my best finds of the year. Her writing is simply wonderful - so evocative and emotive. Jules was strong, independent and generally content with her life. She had her fears and insecurities but she knew who she was. She recognised her weakness when it came to Shane, but even though the story was told from her POV, it was also clear that Shane had his own vulnerabilities. He was such a decent, caring guy who was messed up by the loss of their best friend. I loved that, in the present day, he was stoic and let Jules set the pace of their friendship. I loved that he was a hugely popular guy and came from a wealthy family, but as a high school kid, he was still so kind and thoughtful. This was such a fab story that gripped my heart. Loved it!

Meet Taylor Danae Colbert

Taylor has been writing since the tender age of seven, when her mother bought her her first typewriter.

Once she finished her first work, a tall tale about a girl with hair that grew too fast, her father told her she should be published. And so, her lifelong dream of becoming a published writer was born.
Taylor never thought of herself as a romance writer, but it turns out, she loves love.
When she's not chasing her kids, watching Impractical Jokers with her husband, running, or playing around with her two pups, she's probably under her favorite blanket, either writing a book, or reading one.
Taylor lives in Maryland, where she was born and raised.
