Romeo Sinacore was raised to be a killer. He uses his brain and his body to secure information before executing his victims. There's no place in his life for a committed relationship. So he made one of the hardest decisions of his life. He thought he was doing the right thing - giving away what was clearly his to a better man.

Eden de Rossi was raised in The Famiglia. She knows how things work. She knows Romeo's reputation, yet she wants him to choose her. Instead, he breaks her heart and she moves on. But, things are never quite the same again.

This was such a fabulous, passionate read. There was intensity throughout this whole story that was riddled with love, desire, jealousy and secrets. The story moves between now and then, as it leads to the climactic denouement of the truth. Romeo was a fantastic character. For an assassin, he was noble, loyal and loving. I loved that all he wanted to do was protect the ones he loved, no matter what, even to the detriment of his own happiness. Eden is portrayed early on as not putting up with any of Romeo's BS, and being more than a match for him, but I felt that actually, she was somewhat weak and let things happen to her. I felt that she settled and tried to make the best of things rather than just remain steadfast in her love for Romeo. Their situation was pretty messed up, as I really felt that her decisions contributed to everything being so tangled and people being hurt. It felt like her mind and her heart were in a constant battle. However, there's no disputing that this was a well-written story with a fantastic, intricate plot and full of emotion.
