REVIEW: Fight For Us by Jolie Vines

Kit has only ever loved two people. Now she needs to save them both.

Sharpshooter Kit never planned on joining the military, but her mom’s expensive medical care leaves her no choice but to sign up. Her dream of a future with her childhood sweetheart is long over, and she’s on her own.

Until years later when she receives orders to save his life.

Green Beret Nate has Kit’s name tattooed across his skin and his soul. When he sees her face in a God-forsaken hellhole, he knows she’s walking into a trap, but damn if he can let her. Even if rescuing her destroys his best chance to avenge his murdered father.

When Nate is sent back to the US before he can carry out his self-ordered mission, Kit has no illusions. He isn’t planning on staying. Helping him return becomes her priority, though it means risking her career and her heart.

But love burns brighter than vengeance, and saying goodbye for good will be far harder this time around.

Caroline's Review

✮✮✮✮✮

Loved the plot and loved the change of pace from this author’s previous books.

"We'd had plans...The world had been ours to discover together. Until he'd left."

Kathryn AKA Kit Samson was heartbroken when her childhood friend and love of her life disappeared out of said life on a mission of revenge. She spent years trying to erase memories of him but no one else every came close to replacing him. When she is suddenly face to face with him again, she fights tooth and nail to keep him at a distance, but those old feelings of love and loyalty catapult back to the surface and has her questioning whether to fight for him...for them...or to just let him go.

"I craved holding her like a soldier left stranded in a desert thought only of water."

Nate Wolfe had never planned to see his Kit again. He'd sacrificed a life with her for his quest to take down his father's murderer. He's so close to his goal that he can almost taste it, but something goes wrong and he finds himself back on US soil and under intense scrutiny. He also finds himself within kissing and holding proximity of the one woman who owns his heart. He's been so focused on his mission and had resigned himself to his fate, but to have her so close again makes him question his life and his quest.

"My biggest scar is the one I made when I left you. It tore me in half. And that will never heal."

I was enthralled by this story. It's completely different from what I've already read by this author but no less flawlessly executed. I enjoyed the explosive and visceral chemistry between Nate and Kit, as well as the element of suspense in the plot. Both were strong characters with strong convictions, as well as passionate hearts. A really fantastic read!
