Who is also Van's best friend, which means she's off-limits but it doesn't stop them having a hot secret affair. One that leaves Isla with a broken heart. Fast forward fifteen years later and Isla is a divorced mother of two and Van is well and truly back in her life, as he seizes this second chance to make Isla his again and forever. Wowsers! This story was edgy, incredibly sexy, and heartbreaking as we follow this couple's story as it unfolded in the now and then. My heart absolutely melted for Niko (he was totally Niko to me rather than Van!). I loved his dominance, his authority, and his vulnerability where Isla was concerned. I mourned the loss of the fifteen years between them and the choices that Niko made to keep her safe. Isla was stubbornly independent, but she was a tigress where her kids were concerned, which I could totally relate. Her boys were knowing and so cute! The chemistry between Isla and Niko was off the charts! They were hella hot together! 🔥🔥🔥 His words of love and devotion had me swooning! Gah! I really love this author and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get Griffin's story soon!
