Fabulous read! This was a well-written, heart-wrenching story with so much poetry and pathos.

Duke Potter lost the love of his life traumatically some eighteen years ago. When he finally comes face to face with Ramsey Ford again, she's engaged to another man. However, nothing is as it seems.
"He called it the season of wildfire that year we fell in love. A time when we burned the brightest before everything fell down around us."
I don't have enough words to express how I feel about this story. It was highly emotional as we uncover bit by bit what happened in the past between Duke and Ramsey, as my heart broke for them over and over, as well as what is going on in the present. Gosh, the pain and anguish that they went through! In the present day, the love they had for one another burned as brightly as it did eighteen years before. I felt the loss of every single one of those eighteen years when they could have been so happy. Duke was determined and Ramsey was fierce and stoic, and I worked out the twist to their story well before the denouement only because it tied in so neatly. However, it didn't take away the beauty of the love that was between them, or the humour that sometimes popped up unexpectedly. I'm so looking forward to the final book in this series!
