Blurb

Did you ever send an explicit picture to your significant other?

Well, I sent one to my ex back in college and his best friend Zack found it and showed the entire fraternity. Sure, I should have known better, but I was young, stupid, and in love.

Six years later, I’m bidding on a project for my ex’s company against my nemesis, his best friend.

Now, Zack’s trying to make my life a living hell while my ex has me jumping through hoops to land this job.

A job that I need regardless of how my body reacts to Zack, but my heart may have a completely different contract in mind.

Caroline's Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was an enjoyable, sexy read.

"We all know that there is a fine line between hate and love, but lust? That's a whole other ballgame."

Blake was devastated by a her college boyfriend and his best friend. Six years later, she finds herself face to face with them once more - or, more specifically, against the best friend, Zack. The enmity between them is still there but, beneath the surface, is the ever-present sizzle between them - one that they spent four years ignoring.

"I can see myself falling for her; the hate I felt for so many years evaporating before my eyes giving way to a violent attraction."

Zack is just as affected by Blake in the present as he was in the past. Although he knows that they should probably stay away from one another, he is inexorably drawn to her, and fights hard to break down her walls and win her trust.

"You can taste me later. I've waited ten years to have you like this, Blake. Let me have you."

This was a great read. The book was dual POV but a lot of the chapters were split into both POVs with no headings so it took a second to realise who was 'talking' sometimes. I thought the 'hate' aspect was overplayed a bit, as it's such a strong word and, apart from what happened to Blake towards the end of her final year in college, there was no real concrete basis for such an extreme feeling on Blake or Zack's side. Blake is a tough cookie with some insecurity issues, but I loved that Zack didn't really put up with her bluster and was direct about what he wanted from her. I loved his honesty and his sweetness about his feelings for her. They had a lot in common and I liked that Blake didn't let her stubbornness and the past get in the way of them becoming more because they had chemistry in spades.

Author Bio

Renee Harless, her husband, and children live in Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.  She studied Communication, specifically Public Relations, at Radford University.

Growing up, Renee always found a way to pursue her creativity. It began by watching endless runs of White Christmas- yes even in the summer – and learning every word and dance from the movie. She could still sing Sister Sister if requested. In high school she joined the show choir and a community theatre group, The Troubadours. After marrying the man of her dreams and moving from her hometown she sought out a different artistic outlet – writing.

To say that Renee is a romance addict would be an understatement. When she isn’t chasing her toddler around the house, working her day job, or writing, she delves head first into a romance novel.
