RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Then You Saw Me by Carrie Aarons

Then You Saw Me by Carrie Aarons is now live!

You know what's guaranteed to send your heart into your throat? Opening the front door of your off-campus house to find the boy you had a crush on all through high school telling you he's the new subletter.

Of course, he barely knew I existed back then, and still doesn't even though we attend the same university. But in a house of six college kids, it should be easy to remain invisible while carrying a torch for him. After all, I'm skilled at being overlooked and playing second fiddle.

Except Austin Van Hewitt, my hometown's golden boy, doesn't get the memo. After we throw our first party of the year, I'm on his radar and somehow my lips miraculously end up on his. The budding romance is one I've always dreamt about. As he shows more and more interest, I push aside the plaguing insecurity of never being good enough.

But then a letter shows up in our mailbox. A time capsule I wrote to myself when I was fifteen. You know, the kind where a teacher sends it to you years later? Guess who opens it by mistake and reads all about how I plan on marrying him and having his babies one day? Did I mention I signed it using his last name?

Mortifying would be an understatement. After he starts pulling away, I'm once again the girl in the background hoping that someone will understand me enough to pay me all of their attention.

The old me, the one conditioned to settle for what she's given, would back down. This time, though, if I want everything I almost held in my hands, I'll have to speak up. I'll have to admit exactly how I feel, fight for the love that was blossoming. And I'm not sure what's scarier; voicing my inner thoughts or facing his ultimate rejection.

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was hooked on this book! It portrayed all the angst, self-doubt and excitement of new adulthood, as the characters strove for their footing in the world.

”Austin will always be that guy for me. The one who can make me weak with one look, who I will throw away all my strength for.”

Taya North has had a crush on Austin Van Hewitt since she was 14. Six years later, he's the new roommate in their house share and she's not sure if she can handle living with him, since she’s been trying to move on from her old feelings. However, he's finally noticing her and the sparks between them are real, but the guy keeps blowing hot and cold. It doesn’t help when he accidentally reads a letter that she wrote years ago when she was in the first throws of her puppy love for him.

”As I scrape my teeth over Taya’s bare skin, I feel like the entire world could implode, and the two of us would still be here.”

This was such a fab read! Both Austin and Taya had issues with their families. Austin had the weight of expectation on his shoulders and Taya just wanted to be seen by hers. They seemed like they were so different but, in reality, they had much in common. The connection and attraction between them were obvious and undeniable. Unfortunately, Austin let his family name, and all that came with it, get in the way of his feelings for Taya. His mistrust kept him from believing in his own personal judgement of her, even as he got to know her on a deeper level. Taya was independent and successful but felt completely neglected by her family. They both just wanted to be seen for their true worth. The build up in their relationship was tense as they pushed-and-pulled, until the explosive moment that Austin finally broke through his restraint. They were gorgeous, hot and sweet together. I felt their despair and misery as they struggled to deal with how their relationship was going to work, but I was rooting all the way for them. Thoroughly recommend for all new adult romance lovers!
