My new neighbor is irresistible, and he’s keeping me up ALL
night long…
Emerson Hayes is sexy, arrogant, and has abs that would put
a Hemsworth to shame. He’s also opening a bar with his buddies right below my
apartment. Goodbye, peace and quiet, hello sleepless nights fantasizing about
my hot new landlord…
But when my stuffy workplace makes it clear I need a
plus-one for our events, I have the perfect way to even the score. Emerson is
A+ arm-candy… as long as I can resist taking a bite. Our arrangement is
supposed to be just for show, but Emerson is like that fifth shot of tequila:
tempting, intoxicating, and liable to leave me flat on my back with my panties
around my ankles, begging for more.
Maybe I should stay for just one more round…
Sparks fly in the hot new standalone series from Katie McCoy.
Caroline's Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fun, sexy read! Really enjoyed it.
"I knew right then that he was going to kiss me. and I wanted it bad."
Alex is open to romance but finds it hard to believe in true love. One hot encounter later and she's constantly thinking about Emerson, even though she dashed away without any telling him her surname or giving him her number. Focused on work, she's too busy for relationships.
"A stranger who ditched me without exchanging numbers, haunted my dreams."
Emerson is a serial monogamist. When the sexy stranger, who crossed his path, suddenly reappears back in his life, he's not willing to let her go, even though he's too busy for relationships.
I thought this was a fun, sexy read. Alex has been affected by past events in her life and she's wary of love. She's also vying for a key position at work, so she honestly just doesn't have time for a relationship. I loved the way she and Emerson met - it went from cringingly hilarious to seriously hot! Alex was sincere and had a good heart, and I loved how she stood up for herself and stood by her convictions.
Emerson was a good, solid guy. He had his fair share of insecurities but I enjoyed his pursuit of Alex. He and Alex gelled from the very beginning, and I loved that he was willing to put himself out there for her and her happiness.
This story was also a good introduction to the rest of Emerson's friends - I loved how they looked out for one another. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series.
