BLURB:

Sutter Mason is sick and tired of ballplayers. And pitchers? The worst!

She’s over their inflated egos. Done with their magnetic charm. And as far as she’s concerned, the broken promise the last ace left her with was her final strike in the game of love.

The problem? Her dad is the coach of the hometown minor league team. And the hot new lefty who just joined the squad? He’s her brother’s new roommate. This time around, instead of falling for the player, she’s going to use him to get what she wants—the perfect case study for her psychology thesis.

No dates. No feelings. Zero extra innings. Simply a business relationship that ends when the season is done or Jensen Hawke is pulled up for prime time.

Arizona Monsoon rookie Jensen Hawke is laser focused—on proving he’s more than just hype, on breaking the league’s strikeout record, and on getting called up to the big leagues.

Jensen doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t even really do friends. But his stubborn attitude is getting him in trouble on the mound. His control comes and goes. His curveball is a mess. And every time his roommate’s cute sister points out that it’s probably all in his head, he wants to scream.

But when a single conversation with her seems to up his game, Jensen decides maybe he’s got time for one relationship while he chases his dream. Just a little positive mental coaching. Nothing but two people working toward shared goals.

So what if Sutter Mason gets him more than anyone ever has. Believes in him in a way that makes him believe too. Looks at him like he’s actually special. And so what if he’s starting to feel things he swore off for good.

In baseball, sometimes all it takes is one spectacular play to change the game. And Jensen Hawke and Sutter Mason didn’t see each other coming. With love on the line, everything is riding on this next pitch.

* Southpaw is a standalone, new adult, enemies-to-lovers, grumpy-sunshine baseball romance full of angst, steam and swoon.

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This author never disappoints!

"Something about that girl feels risky, like she's a temptation that could bury me in problems I have zero business - or interest - stepping into."

Sutter Mason and Jensen Hawke don't get off to a good start but gradually become friends, and then become more. She's been burnt by love, and he is focused on getting his baseball career back on track after recovering from surgery. These two were made for each other! In spite of her heartache, she's bright, bold and beautiful. Jensen is a grump who is disinclined to form relationships. I loved how these two eventually connect and the slow-burn chemistry between them is maddening! I loved how they supported each other, and I thrilled at their banter and heat along the way. Loved it!

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Oh my heart! I loved Noah and Aurora!

"Aurora Hart was the sun that I gravitated to....Because all I saw was her."

Aurora Hart has had to temporarily move into the house her older brother, Austin, shares with his teammates. One of them being Noah Holden. Poor Noah! He couldn't seem to put a foot right from the get-go with Aurora. Normally confident and a girl-magnet, he's completely thrown off-kilter by her, and she's not even his type, but he can't stay away from her.

This was such a fab story! Aurora was carrying a lot of emotional baggage. My heart hurt for her insecurities and her negative feeling of self-worth. Noah himself was carrying scars from his past. I loved how these two found happiness in each other. It was so fun watching Noah fall for her! Gorgeous!

SNEAK PEEK!

“What I need . . .” I falter, choking on what to say. “You think you know what I need?”

“Yes.” He nods, confident and cocky, and I want to slap him. Then maybe, tackle him to the sand and take him up on his offer.

But the truth is, he’s wrong. He’s so off base. I’ve had years to analyze what I need from a man, and it isn’t sex.

“What I need . . .” I struggle to control the quake in my voice, and swallow before continuing. “Is a man to greet me in the morning. Say hello when he comes home from work. Ask me about my day and then really listen to what I have to say.” The lump forming in my throat nearly cuts off my speech.

“What I need is someone to hug me every day. Kiss me good night. Hold my hand. Support my decisions.” I jab a finger into my sternum as my voice rises. “Say please and thank you. Appreciate me. Respect me.”

Be faithful and committed, whispers through my head but I don’t share those traits, as I’m already opening myself up and vulnerable to potential mockery.

“If I go to the doctor, ask me what’s wrong and be concerned.”

His jaw ticks. “Is something wrong with you?”

“That’s not the point.” My voice lifts to a high squeak and I’m no longer worried about upsetting singing palm trees or crooning ocean waves. I straighten, shoulders back, hands fisted at my sides, as I glare at him. “These are the things I need.” I nod once, like punctuation at the end of my list.

Dallas slowly shakes his head, lowering his gaze to focus on the sand at our feet. He’s barefoot which I thought bizarre until we went to dinner and noticed several people dressed up but not wearing shoes.

“You didn’t mention love.” His rough voice is hardly more than a whisper, melting into the warm breeze around us.

“Isn’t that implied in all I just said? Those actions are love.”

BLURB:

When the divorced mother of the groom goes head-to-head with the single father of the bride, they might be the next couple experiencing a heart-to-heart.

When my son asked me to take his ticket for the honeymoon that didn’t happen, I balked. What would I do on a ten-day vacation in Belize?

More importantly, what caused my son and the love of his life to call off their wedding?
I didn’t have an answer, and he wasn’t sharing
So, I’d traded places with him.

Over a week of sunshine and me-time was on the docket until he arrived.

Dallas Cole had silver in his beard, eyes the color of an ocean, and the most annoying drawl. And by annoying, I mean, thigh-clenching, heart-hammering, make me want to kiss him swagger.

Only, that’s something I would never do, because he’s the single father of the bride for the wedding that never was, and now, he’s encroaching on my parentmoon.

One house. One bed. Not happening.

So what if he calls me darlin’ in that swoony voice. Not going there despite his smirky grin amongst the gray on his jaw. Not going to think about the fact he saw me naked . . . by accident.

Nope.

The former father of the bride will only be going head-to-head with this protective mother of the groom, not lips to lips, or any other body part. And definitely not heart to heart.

Tropes: sexy silver fox; later-in-life; genXromance; one-bed; forced proximity; holiday destination; single dad; single mom; he falls first

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: The Wrong Pitch by Brittany Taylor

The Wrong Pitch by Brittany Taylor is now live!

I couldn't possibly have been more wrong the night I'd tackled Hunter Moore to the ground in the middle of the night.

To be fair, the street was pitch-black, the wheel to my suitcase had popped off, and I found myself face to face with a stranger charging at me.

My instincts had kicked in, and instead, I'd landed him straight on his back with my knee pressed to his chest. Turns out, the stranger I'd tackled to the ground was my brother's roommate... which meant he was also mine.

With my dreams coming to a screeching halt, I was left with no other choice than to move in with my brother and his roommates.

Hunter Moore was star pitcher for the Northeast Rebels. Although I'd found his incessant talk of baseball obnoxious, I couldn't help but relate to how deep his passion ran. Even if our dreams were completely different.

With a shared bathroom and a single wall between our bedrooms, we couldn't resist pushing the boundaries.

Potent green eyes.
Perfectly sculpted muscle.
I was inevitably drawn in.

But the closer we became, the more I learned just how dedicated Hunter was to his dream, no matter the cost.
Only I was unaware, he'd already traded mine for his.

The Wrong Pitch is a spicy roommates, enemies to lovers college sports romance. It is a complete standalone.

Caroline's Review

🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really enjoyed reading this romance by a new-to-me-author.

"Hunter has pulled out the part of my body that vibrates to life whenever he's nearby."

Ophelia Reynolds has just had the rug of her life pulled out from under her, which finds her going back to her hometown to temporarily live with her younger brother, who's a college baseball player. The move also brings Hunter Moore into her life, her brother's best friend/housemate/teammate. He's also the guy she took down in the street, in the middle of night on her first night. He was just out running and minding his own business, but she thought he was a possible assailant. Oof! That meet-cute wasn't so cute!

"The compulsion to pull her impossibly closer and slam her body against mine courses through me."

Hunter is now wholly focused on his baseball career, after extricating himself from an obligation that was not of his choosing. From the moment he meets Ophelia, he knows that she could be a distraction he doesn't need. However, there is no denying the magnetic pull between them, no matter how hard he tries to pretend that she doesn't exist.

"I won't break you...I don't think you understand that power you have over me...If I have the power to break you, it means you could break me, too."

I really liked the main characters in this book. They were both focused, career-orientated, and determined to make their dreams come true. They'd never made allowances for the fact that they might find love along the way. Hunter blew hot and cold until he couldn't deny what he wanted anymore. The sparks between them burned bright, making for some pretty hot scenes! 🔥🔥 The tension between them was thrilling. My heart broke for them when a painful revelation was made, and I really wanted to give Ophelia a shake for the unfairness of it all. However, I loved the reconciliation and the ending melted me. I'm definitely up for the next book.

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: A Mountain Divides Us by Allie Winters

Title: A Mountain Divides Us
Author: Allie Winters
Release Date: March 23rd

Blurb

– Kristen –
Eli Andrews wasn’t supposed to be anything other than a temporary roommate.
On paper, it all makes sense. I rent out a room to him to earn some much-needed cash when my work hours get cut. I’ll stay on my side of the house and he’ll stay on his. Away from me and my kids.
But he wasn’t supposed to be tall and gorgeous and make butterflies flutter in my stomach. He wasn’t supposed to be helpful and charming and supportive in a way I didn’t know I needed. He wasn’t supposed to waken that part of me that’s laid dormant for so long, an attraction building between us the longer he stays. I wasn’t supposed to fall under his spell.
Or into his bed.
For years, I’ve made sensible choices. Ones that are best for me and my kids. Ones that don’t involve sexy blue-eyed strangers who are only in town for a month.
Eli Andrews isn’t staying in Crescent Pass. But tell that to my heart.

– Eli –
Kristen Taylor wasn’t supposed to be the woman of my dreams.
On paper, it doesn’t make sense. She’s a widow with two kids, while I’m the guy who avoids relationships. Only, when plans fall through and I’m stuck on a job with nowhere to stay, she’s the one who comes through for me.
But she wasn’t supposed to be so easy to get along with. She wasn’t supposed to show me what a family could really be like. She wasn’t supposed to make my heart pound.
Or tempt me beyond belief.
For years, I’ve kept to myself. It’s safer that way. No one to disappoint or hurt you in return. Besides, I’m not staying in Crescent Pass.
So why can’t I get her out of my head… or my heart?

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a lovely, slow burn romance that warm, sexy and delightful!

"I've been attracted to you since the first day we met."

Kristen Taylor is a single mother of twins who decides to take in a lodger to make ends meet. However, a last minute change has her opening her door to the gorgeous Eli Andrews. He's in town for only a few weeks, but he makes an impact on their lives. However, they will need to deal with fears and doubts on both sides before they can forge a future together.

"Meeting you is the best thing that's ever happened to me."

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Kristen was a dedicated and fierce mother to Jamie and Jenny. They were her whole life and she did what she needed do to provide for them, not just financially but also emotionally. Eli had no real idea of his level of attractiveness. I loved how humble he was and how much he admired Kristen and adored the two kids. There was no big drama in this book, just a really lovely read with steamy scenes, two gorgeous people, a couple of cute kids, and some meddling folk!

REVIEW: Burn by Jolie Vines

Title: Burn

Series: Dark Island Scots, #4

Author: Jolie Vines

Release Date: March 23rd

Blurb

I’d wreck his life. For mine, he’d burn down the world.
Jamieson was my penpal.
My first crush. My surf-crazy, impulsive, pyro boy, and the secret I kept from the world.
Until he broke us up before we ever met.
When I discover he’s been imprisoned by an evil man, saving him becomes my only goal.
Except his enemy wants me too.
He was fire and water. With him, I’d either drown or burn.

--

Burn (Dark Island Scots, #4) brings this smexy and thrilling series to a breathtaking finish. This is Jamieson and Summer’s romance, so expect fiercely passionate scenes between a plus-sized heroine and her fire-loving, reckless hero.
With nothing left to lose, our tribe of found family have to risk it all to end the war against them.
Please note this series contains darker themes.

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wow! An explosive, heart-thumping finale to this fabulous series! Dark, passionate and action-packed, this story was pacy and brought everything to such a wonderfully satisfying and happy end for the brothers and the women they love.

Told mainly from Jamieson AKA Burn and Summer's POV, we also had snippets from the other characters, reinforcing the relationships between the individual couples.

"Summer was mine. My obsession. My everything. She always had been."

Summer is broken by her experiences and Burn just wants retribution and to keep his family safe by any means necessary. I loved Burn's patience as Summer worked through her issues, and his willingness to help her get past them. For all his violent tendencies, Burn had a beautiful, soft heart. Summer had so much regret for her past actions and major trust issues, but I loved how the family adopted her into the fold without question, and bit by bit, she relaxed into her new place amongst them.

Seriously, just like the previous three novels, so much happens in this book, as the author steadily brought everyone back together again and gave us an ending that was optimistic for the family. She even gave us yet more surprises along the way, and a thread for a possible new story. And, I've got to mention the spice in this story!! Burn by name, burn by nature! LOL. Wowsers! 🔥🔥🔥 An unforgettable series that I'm sad has ended, but I feel like I can finally take a deep breath of relief for our characters and their HEAs.

TRILLION

Sophie

I’m in the middle of running a Tuesday report for Miranda in Accounts Receivable when my office phone flashes with an unfamiliar extension.

It takes me three rings to process the name on the Caller ID.

It takes me an additional stomach-dropping ring to answer. “Sophie Bristol speaking.”

In the three years I’ve worked at Westcott Corporation, Trey Westcott has never called me.

“Ms. Bristol, I need you to report to my office.” The commanding tenor in my boss’ voice sends actual chills down my spine—not an easy feat. “Immediately.”

The number of times I’ve physically seen the unknowable powerhouse of a man, I could count on one hand, and all of those times have been in passing—with today being an exception.

From what I’ve heard, a person only gets called into his office when they’re about to be fired. The man likes to dole out pink slips in person. He claims it’s a respect thing, though I can’t help but wonder if he simply gets off on it. Power changes people.

Then again, Westcott’s been powerful his entire life. Born to one of the wealthiest families in the world and orphaned as a teenager, he’s spent the past twenty years turning his $500 billion inheritance into a net worth that tops a trillion dollars.

A hundred times, I’ve tried to wrap my head around that kind of money, but I can’t come close to fathoming it. They say if you were to count to a trillion, it would take two-hundred-thousand years. I don’t think an ordinary person could stay sane with that kind of influence and authority.

Some of the most prominent people in existence are terrified of him—of his capabilities. And the shroud of mystery (and rumors) that surround him only add to his intimidating allure.

I log out of my computer and quickly calculate the odds of it being the last time I do so. He’s got no reason to let me go, that I can think of, but I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched some poor, thankless company minion packing their belongings into a cardboard box while they attempt not to break down in tears in front of their staring colleagues. Once they load the elevator, they’re never seen or heard from again.

I don’t tend to fear anyone.

Trey Westcott is an exception.

For the past hour, I’ve replayed the break room incident in my mind on a loop, wondering what he heard and how much, if any, he attributed to me.

He stopped me in the hallway and said, “Thanks for … that.”

Was there sarcasm in his tone?

What if he thought I was the one spreading those ridiculous rumors?

Also, why is he calling me personally? He has half a dozen assistants to do this sort of thing …

“Ms. Bristol?” His brusque voice in my ear tells me I don’t have time to wonder.

“Yes.” I keep my composure and swallow my concerns for now. “I’ll be right there.”

Westcott is my boss’ boss’ boss’ boss’ boss on a zig-zagged chart that makes me dizzy if I stare at it for too long. I didn’t think the man knew I existed.

I’ve sat in on some meetings, amongst a hundred others, and we’ve passed in the hallway a time or two, never making eye contact. Other than that, nothing about our dealings have been remarkable or memorable, at least not for him.

I slip my work badge around my neck and lock up my office, mentally calculating how long it’ll take to get from the eighth floor of the southwest corner of our extensive corporate campus to the northeast section where I’ll hitch a ride on a private elevator to a penthouse office suite where Mr. Westcott spends no less than seventy hours a week.

Five minutes later, I check in at the desk outside his office where his number one assistant works behind a shiny black desk so gargantuan it nearly swallows her whole.

“Mr. Westcott wanted to see me,” I say. “Sophie Bristol, from Payroll.”

Spa-like music plays from hidden speakers but the air is particularly icy. I heard this is how he works. The hospital-grade air purifier combined with the frigid sixty-six degree thermostat keeps Westcott clear-headed and helps him do his best thinking.

The nameplate on the assistant’s desk identifies her as Mona, and while I’ve seen hundreds of emails go out on his behalf—all with her name on them—I’d yet to put a face with it. She’s stunning. Wide set hazel eyes. Inky dark hair that shines like lacquered glass. Pouty, matte-red lips. Lingerie model body. Baby face. Barely twenty-three if I had to guess.

She taps a button on her phone, lifts her fingers to the microphone of her headset, and mutters something low before pointing to the double doors behind her with the hand-carved Westcott monogram: a giant W flanked with a P on the left and an A on the right.

Pierce Ainsworth Westcott III.

The third in a line of successful, old-moneyed men, the world has only ever known him as Trey.

“You can head in,” she says, gaze careful yet curious. “Mr. Westcott is ready for you.”

I press my fingertips against the gold-plated door handle and give it a push.

It swings open and in a flash of a second, I know how Alice felt when she went down the rabbit hole.

BLURB

I don’t do commitment. And though I swing both ways, I don’t do men either.
It’s too messy, too stressful, and just asking for trouble.
I’d rather shine bright like the sun than drown in the rain, so I adopt a pounce-and-bounce lifestyle for which my sparkling charm keeps me from being hated.
When I show up in Sweden for a semester abroad, I expect a roomie. What I don’t expect is Lars. The storm to my sun. The test of my patience. How easy he makes it to forget all my reasons for staying away from guys.
No big deal. I’ll just pivot from pounce and bounce to roomies with benefits. I’ll get to indulge in that side of me, then leave it half a world away. What happens in Sweden stays in Sweden… until he follows me home.
Lars shows up at Westbrook looking like my little brother’s new swim bro. Just as alluring as he did before.
And all I can do is ask myself, WTF?
My resolve for an uncomplicated, stress-free life isn’t something I’m willing to give up for anyone, even if his icy-blond hair begs for my fingers and those pale-blue eyes are haunted by shadows.
I might be the sun, but I am not his sun, and it’s not my job to chase away whatever sent him running here. He swears it isn’t me. But I’m calling bullshit. Why else would he show up on my turf?
But then shit starts happening, and the shadows in his eyes turn to panic. I catch a glimpse of the bruises on his creamy, flawless skin.
I can’t keep him at arm’s length anymore. I don’t want to. Protecting him means surrendering to everything I always refused. His destruction or mine.
The choice is simple, so achingly absolute that I can’t help but wonder once more…
WTF?

Please note that WTF contains stalking and domestic abuse (not between the main characters). There is also mention of (off-page) parental death. Some readers may find these things uncomfortable.

AUTHOR BIO

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than fifty titles. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a pumpkin spice latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching K drama until her eyes won’t stay open. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chihuahuas (the real bosses of the house).
Cambria has written in many genres, including new adult, sports romance, male/male romance, sci-fi, thriller, suspense, contemporary romance, and young adult. Many of her titles have been translated into foreign languages and have been the recipients of multiple awards.
