This was an intriguing modern gothic romance.

"The spark I felt as our hands touched told me all I needed to know. The only thing I wanted was her."

Iris Bennington has moved into Payne Hall for her second year at college - she's exactly where she needs to be to look for some lost documents that will change her life and her family legacy. Unfortunately for her, she catches the attention of Soren Grant, a mysterious and dangerous older man who ends up being her stalker and more.

"Your fear isn't that you're afraid of what I will do. You're scared because you think you might like the things I'm going to do to you."

It took me a couple of chapters to get into this story, but once I was in, the author drew me in by creating atmosphere and mystery. Iris had courage that masked her anxiety, and a mistrust of everyone around her, often questioning people's motives. She was right to be scared and wary of her mysterious stalker because his level of creepiness and obsession was way up there! Soren was hooked from the moment he net her, and when he found out who she was to the organisation that he belonged to, he ended up treading a fine line. It was very clear from the beginning that he wanted and desired her, but I must say that I found their chemistry didn't sizzle enough for me. I felt that I needed more from Iris. It was very clear that she feared him, but I would have liked to have been more convinced of her attraction to him. Overall, a pretty solid read and that ending!
