Title: Laces
Author: Tempi Lark
Release Date: January 31
Welcome to Hawthorne Asylum.
Welcome to hell.
This place isn’t run by the doctors who
make you talk or the orderlies who force you to swallow your pills.
It belongs to them, to the Infamous Four.
Tabloids, talk shows, documentaries—their
faces have been plastered everywhere. Not because of their impressive rap
sheets, but because of how they look.
And when I arrive, they take notice.
Especially their king: Lincoln “Laces” Caster.
He’s dark and disturbed.
He’s controlling and possessive.
Exactly the kind of boy I should stay away
from if I want to clear my name and get out of here.
*LACES
is not intended for readers under seventeen. This book does have RH elements,
strong language/cursing, and triggering scenes (that might not be suitable for
everybody). Laces is a slow burn that builds toward intimate scenes as the
series progresses. This is book one in the Boys of Hawthorne Asylum series.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
FREAKIN' HELL!! This was an absorbing read that’s left me hanging for more!
”Stop thinking like a good girl and live in this moment with me.”
Gambrielle Evans has been sent to a mental institution for young offenders following the loss of a court case against her powerful stepfather. On her first day, she shows weakness in the face of Lincoln "Laces" Caster and things degenerate from there. However, to survive and have her chance at justice, she needs to play the game, and the dark, secretive Laces is going to show the southern good girl exactly how to do it.
”She had an aroma about her, a sweet scent that obstructed everything in its path long after she had gone, making it impossible to select anything else.”
This book was a riveting read! I felt such hopelessness for Gambrielle. She's innocent and naive but righteous and feisty. She's put in a place that she thought would be relatively safe. It is detached from the outside world and runs by its own set of rules, and it’s hard to know who can be trusted. Laces and his friends were fascinating characters and I can't wait to find out more about their backgrounds and how they wound up at Hawthorne Asylum. Laces tries to keep himself detached but Gambrielle's arrival, and his subsequent fascination with her, has him acting differently. There was an undeniable spark between them. Gambrielle finds comfort where she least expects it, and Laces uncovers a vulnerable spot in himself for her. However, the kicker in this story was the shocking revelation at the end of the book! I DID NOT see it coming!! I need the second book right now!
