Wow! This author kicks off a new series with some serious feels!

"You want Sophia. Sophia wants you. What's the problem?"

Sophia Madden has a huge crush on her best friend's dad - he also happens to be her dad's best friend, too. Haggard Crow has lusted after his daughter's best friend for a few years now. He knows that she is forbidden fruit, but his restraint is pushed to the limit. When her life is endangered, he's done holding back.

"You and me? We're happening. We're not wasting any more time on what-ifs, or this isn't rights. You're going to be mine, and I'm going to be yours."

I was elated about Sophia and Haggard but heartbroken at the turn of events in this story, not to mention astounded by the shocking appearance at the end. This story was sexy, suspenseful and heartrending. So typical of this author to throw everything at the reader with how she weaves her plots. It makes for such addictive reading when you don't know what the heck to expect. Loved Sophia's bravery, loved Haggard's alpha possessiveness, and loved Clem and Boston's (Haggard's kids) acceptance of their relationship. It's usually low angst between the main couples, and thank goodness because I don't how my heart would cope with everything else that happens in this author's books! LOL. Such a fabulous read, as usual!
