About The Scars Between Us

Emma Cooper is determined to fulfill her mother’s dying wish to scatter her ashes with Aiden Sheffield in Linx, Texas. Just one problem. Why Texas and who the hell is Aiden Sheffield? The only clue is a faded piece of her mother’s stationary. Emma imagines Aiden is a former love of her mother’s, but when she meets the beautiful, damaged stranger, she realizes her assumptions couldn’t be more wrong. He’s hot and young. And Emma is as confused as ever. Aiden Sheffield would rather go to hell than Linx. Who does Emma think she is disrupting his carefully built life? The last thing the Marine needs is to slice open the sealed wounds of his painful past. Yet, as he gets to know the lovely Emma, a woman who manages to smile even though she’s lost everything, he changes his mind. He will not let her go to hell alone. But neither is prepared for the devastating evil waiting for them at the end of the road. It might just destroy them.

Caroline's Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“She told me to find Aiden Sheffield and ask for his forgiveness on her behalf. She said you were her greatest regret. She wanted you to be present when I laid her ashes to rest at this river in Linx, Texas.”

Emma Cooper is on a mission to fulfil her mother’s last wishes but she never expected Aiden Sheffield – or her attraction to this prickly man.

“This girl comes into my life, uninvited, bringing with her all the turbulence of a hurricane, unearthing all the demons I buried a long time ago.”

Aiden is taciturn and shrouded in mystery. He never expected Emma Cooper or his reaction to her. He behaves out of character where she’s concerned. He never planned to ever go back to the town where he grew up, but the more time he spends with Emma, the more he realises that there’s no way he’d let her go to that town on her own. However, her appearance dredges up unwanted, horrible memories, which he refuses to discuss with her.

This was a fantastic, moving story! It was kinda beautiful but also kinda harrowing. It was a pretty emotional read with some really surprising and shocking twists and turns in the storyline. I found it hard to put down. It was riveting and also heart-stopping.

“She smells of sweetness – honey and vanilla and innocence. I don’t want to do anything to ruin all those special things.”

I loved watching Emma and Aiden fall in love during their road trip. I loved how Emma’s goodness seeps into Aiden’s life, making it brighter and happier. I loved how she lights up his life and makes him laugh. This book was such a big mix of sexy and heartwarming, mingled with some disturbing stuff. Such beauty entwined with such ugliness. The attraction between them is undeniable and my heart ached for Aiden and his belief that he was no good for her. He didn’t want the darkness inside him to touch her. I absolutely adored how well Emma saw through to the heart Aiden.

“She is the girl who lost everything. I am the boy who never had anything.”

Oh, the feels! Thoroughly recommend this book!

About MK Schiller

Not knowing a word of English, MK Schiller came to America at the age of four from India. Since then, all she’s done is collect words. After receiving the best gift ever from her parents—her very own library card—she began reading everything she could get her greedy hands on. At sixteen, a friend asked her to make up a story featuring the popular bad boy at school. This wasn’t fan fiction…it was friend fiction. From that day on, she’s known she wanted to be a writer. With the goal of making her readers both laugh and cry, MK Schiller has penned more than a dozen books, each one filled with misfit characters overcoming obstacles and finding true love.

To celebrate the release, MK Schiller is giving away a basket of goodies, including a Michael Kors bag!
