REVIEW: Nashville Heat by Bethany Michaels

Nashville Heat (Nashville #1)
When Sydney Stratton moved to Nashville to follow her dream of making it in the country music business, she never counted on meeting Dex Wilder, country's hottest star, let alone hooking up with him! But after a few hot encounters with her cowboy lover, raw lust turns to something deeper and Sydney helps Dex write a new song that reveals a totally different side to the celebrity bad boy she knows only from the tabloids.

As Sydney struggles with revitalizing her floundering career as well as the burgeoning romance with Dex and all of its unique difficulties, revealing photos of the two of them come to light, as well as a secret Dex has been hiding that threatens any future they might have together.

Julie's Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A new-to-me author and it was a great introduction. The story flows very well, with developed characters. I thought the periphery characters played important roles, helping to make the story more believable.

I enjoyed the premise of an upcoming Country star, 'working' to pay the rent whilst trying to get heard within the Music Industry, and thought this was very true based on friends experiences doing the same thing.

Our heroine Sydney finds herself interacting with guests at a party, where she is working, and whilst she is a good girl, hell-bent on doing the right thing, she does allow herself to get swept up in the moment, with the fiction of meeting and enjoying the company of someone famous.

The famous guy is new to the Country Music scene, hot shot, with a sexy reputation. Dex Wilder, our Hero. I think Dex felt more of their instant connection and wanted to act on it a lot more than Sydney, although their 'meeting' was very hot and steamy.

Sydney did not want to be just another girl, and closed herself off, letting her head rule her heart. I loved her meddling mum, and that Sydney wouldn't tell her to drop it - the meddling, the matchmaking! I was glad that she did come through for her daughter though.

I was also glad that Sydney let Dex finally under her skin, they were quite sweet together and a lot sexy!

I'm already popping in to grab the remainder of the series, itching to read about Sydney's bandmate Dillon and her best friend Becca.

Nashville Heat is a fairly quick read with a believable 'real life' edge to the story, of two people making their mark in the Music Industry, meeting and falling for each other, whilst trying to protect themselves from heartache along the way.
