Sweet, humorous, heartbreaking and joyous, but always beautiful.

Aiden Walters and Hailee Jones lived next door to each other. As little kids, they loved to bicker and annoy one another until, one day, they became firm friends when Aiden comes to Hailee's defence. From then on, they were the best of friends and Hailee was Aiden's biggest fan as his acting career took off. It's only when he comes back for senior, after a year in Hollywood, that Hailee starts seeing her best friend in a completely different. Which is good, as Aiden realised how much he loved her. They were each other's first everything and their relationship was solid. Until Hailee broke Aiden's heart. Five years later, he's back in town. Hailee hoped he'd be open to friendship again, but he wants nothing to do with her.

"I can't be near you without feeling crazy...I want to cuss you out and call you names...then I want to push you up against this door, rip your clothes off and take back what was once mine."

Gah! I loved this story so much. Aiden and Hailee made me laugh, made me melt, and made me cry. They were both so young when the story really took off, but they also had their own demons to battle. I felt so sad for both of them when their teenage relationship ended, but was thrilled by Aiden's return. I loved that no matter how hard he tried to hate Hailee, his deep, abiding love and protectiveness of her overrode everything. Aiden was goofy, charming, and so caring. Hailee was sarcastic, soft-hearted, and worked hard to overcome her body issues. I loved her courage and her strength. These two characters were made for one another. I adored them!

This whole series has been such a wonderful, emotional read. Thoroughly recommend it!
