Blurb:

How hard can it be?

That was the question rolling around Larissa Mason’s mind just before she asked Hollis Hudson to be her fake boyfriend.

It was only supposed to be for five minutes, after all.

Granted, that was also before she felt his hand on the small of her back as he charmed the heck out of her family.

She hadn’t heard his laugh yet either.

And it was definitely before she saw the football god shirtless. Otherwise, she would’ve had an idea of just how hard some things could be.

It turns out that pretending to be in love with a crazily handsome, somewhat enigmatic, and absolutely unforgettable tight end (that has an amazing tight end) is easy.

Reminding herself that just because opposites attract doesn’t mean they’re forever is much harder.

What they have isn’t love—it’s a relationship pact. Right?

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a beautiful read! It was humorous, hot, broke my heart and then glued it back together again. Hollis Hudson! Man! I wanna hold him tight and never let go of him.

”He’s beautifully confusing. What you see isn’t all you get.”

Hollis Hudson is in town for a week to attend an awards event. On his first night, he’s minding his own business in the bar across from his hotel when a beautiful woman asks him for a favour, and he’s all too happy to oblige her. Larissa Mason has sworn off athletes. She’s been disappointed one too many times. When a gorgeous stranger comes to her rescue, she strikes up a pact with him for the duration of his stay in town. She’s safe. There’s an expiration date to their arrangement. However, surprising feelings have an annoying tendency of getting the way.

”You know that’s it’s okay to have hope, right?...It’s okay to want to have things…and people…in your life.”

Hollis has come a long way from his troubled roots. He’s all gorgeous man on the outside but, deep down inside, he’s still a vulnerable, broken boy. I adored his friendship and bromance with his best friends, Crew and River. They were funny and irreverent but massively supportive of one another. He’s so confident is some aspects of his life, yet he’s also kinda clueless because no one’s been there to really show him. My heart hurt with his low belief in himself and his self-worth, but I loved how Larissa and also Grandma Judy showed him that he mattered. Larissa was fun, persistent and gutsy. She’s been surrounded by love all her life and it showed in how she viewed the world. I adored her friendship with Bellamy and her cousin, Boone. I also loved how her family rallied round and adopted Hollis into their hearts.

”He kisses me like I’ve never been kissed. It’s controlled and wild and sweet and a promise of something more lascivious.”

Hollis and Larissa were sizzling together! I loved their banter and chemistry. I loved his instinct to claim and protect her. They just clicked right from the start and I loved where the storyline went, and hoping to see a glimpse of them again in this author’s next release. A gorgeous read that brought tears to my eyes of both sadness and joy!
