BLURB:

Is it an accidental pregnancy, if it’s purposefully planned?

Autumn Kulis wants a baby. It’s that simple and that complicated because one thing stands in her way - she doesn’t have a man in her life. And at almost forty, she isn’t getting any younger. On a two-week trip to her brother’s lakeside cottage, a plan forms. Make a list of three men. Sleep with each of them. Allow nature to take its course. Only, a certain someone gets in her way.

Logan Anders goes with the flow of life. Divorced, single dad, he works hard, and occasionally plays harder. When his college roommate invites him to Lakeside Cottage for two weeks, he hadn’t remembered his best friend’s little sister being so hot. Nor was he a fan of her plan to find a baby daddy. He’s determined to make her list then tear it to shreds leaving him the only man horizontal with her.

When we were forty, we had so much life to live, and a simple proposition could be the start of a second chance at really living.

I read this mature adult story coming off the back of a fantastic new adult story. I thought the transition would be hard but I thought it was a fabulous read!

”I had this crazy notion that you and I were meant for each other.”

Autumn Kulis has decided to have a baby. She’s 36, recently single, with no prospects of a guy in her future to make a baby happen. When her brother organises a two-week vacation at his lakeside house, where his three best friends will join them, along with their respective children, she barely recognises Logan Anders, her teenage crush. He’s buff, gorgeous and interested in her.

”I cannot get Autumn out of my thoughts. Her laughter. Her smile. Her incredible body. F*ck. It’s crazy how consumed I’ve been by her all day.”

Logan is a 40YO single dad, sharing custody of his 11YO daughter, Lorna, with his ex-wife. He doesn’t recognise Autumn when he sees again but he’s most definitely attracted to her. When he finds out that she’s planning to have a baby and raise it by herself, and is making a list of possibly donors, there’s no way he’s going to let anyone else’s name but his be on that list.

”There’s been a void in my life. One I didn’t even see was there until you began to fill it.”

Autumn and Logan were really interesting characters. Both had weight issues when they were younger and they seem to carry the scars with them as adults, especially Logan. Under his sexy, ripped exterior, he’s still the chubby, funny guy, who always loses out to his better-looking roomie. However, this time, he’s determined to win Autumn. I loved how tactile he was with her and pretty direct, too, wanting his chance with her. He was a fabulous dad, caring, sensitive and something of a sex god! He and Autumn had amazing chemistry and some pretty steamy times together, but his insecurities got in the way of smooth sailing, as they navigated their way from a two-week arrangement through to a lasting relationship. Autumn was a hard-worker, super caring, but she recognised her own weaknesses when it came to men, which made her question her feelings and actions. I was completely invested in their growing relationship, as well as the lives of the other characters in this story. There’s also a thread in this story that promises some major heartbreak in the two books to follow in this series. Can’t wait to read them!
