They say going home is easy, and in all reality, it should be. Just not for me.
The small, one-horse town that gave me my roots, that made my soul thrive, is also the
place I never wanted to set foot in again. I left everything behind and never looked back.
Until now. With the death of the man who raised me, I’m forced to return to Boone.
Old wounds resurface, and heartache and loss trump everything once more.
Seeing the man who shattered my world the night of our high school graduation almost
brings me to my knees. Jessie, my once best friend and love of my life, ruined it all for
me…for us.
I’m back in Boone…and my secret is about to rattle the tiny town.

Danielle's Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jules & Jessie aren’t just high school sweethearts, they’ve been destined to be since kindergarten, that is until he jacks it all up royally.

They had dreams. Big plans. Needless to say, dropping the big “B” bomb just before graduation threatens to end them all. So, with stars in his eyes and focused on the prize, Jessie makes the biggest mistake of his life.

Fast forward five years...Jules is back in her hometown due to unfortunate circumstances and just sick about facing what she knows will be some of the hardest times.

It seems as though their hearts didn’t get the memo about moving on, because as soon as they’re back in each others grasp, they both know they can’t let go. Largely in part to the quirkiest little girl around.

Overall, enjoyed this book. I’m a sucker for a second chance romance especially one with an extra surprise. The only thing that stopped me from giving it 5 stars was Whit’s language. Being a parent myself, I’ve had many o' giggles over a slipped curse word or two, but to have this child using the language she did and no adult correcting her just put me off. And for that I have a solid 4 Stars!
