This was a fun, sexy read with a bit of angst thrown in.
"She smiled and it was like someone opened the black-out curtains and let the sunshine in."
Milly is getting over her failed marriage but she's making a go of it in NYC and a new job. When he ex drops off their dog, Dick, at her apartment and tells her he's moving abroad, she has no choice but to keep the big dog with her. She never expected Dick to become a bit of a sensation with her hot neighbour's little boy.
"My heart had been a block of ice for so long, I'd forgotten what it felt like to experience heat. This kiss brought it all back in one punch."
Hudson had been severely stung by his ex-wife. The only good thing that came out of his disastrous marriage is his precious son. He is pretty skittish about relationships. When he meets his new neighbour, he can't seem to stop fixating on her, even though she lives too close for comfort. Add in his son's fascination with her big dog, and he's fighting an uphill battle.
"Tonight was supposed to be fun. A one and done. But I'm not sure after what just happened I could let her go."
This book was funny and sexy. Milly is pretty confident but she's somewhat vulnerable after everything she's been through. She's also kind and giving - people love her genuine nature. Hudson is wary of women but he's a fantastic dad. I loved how he tried to keep Milly at arm's length but then proceeded to fail miserably! His little boy, Wiley, was just the cutest. The things he said really tickled me! LOL
Overall, this was a great read with great characters, hilarious dialogue, and hot scenes.
