BLURB

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀: 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗯, 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗼’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹?

No, I hadn’t heard that Ryan Prince was staying at the very resort I had just started working at.

If I had, maybe I would have called in sick.

On second thought, maybe I wouldn’t have, because I really needed that paycheck. Being a single mother and having a lapse in child support had made me that desperate.

Still, I would have rather avoided the circus that rolled into Hawk Tail Resort and the man who sauntered in with it.

All these years later and he was still that same gorgeous football player I left behind in college.

Except now he wasn’t gracing the gridiron unless it was for a movie role.

I assumed he wouldn’t even recognize me, not with the actress on his arm and the crowd pressing in around him.

Ryan Prince didn’t just recognize me; the angry tilt of those lips on that too perfect face told me he remembered exactly what I did when I left.

I thought maybe this was a gift, a way to put the past to rest…but the look on his face told me he had plans to dig up everything that was unfinished between us.

The summer was about to end, but it felt like my penance for the last decade was about to begin.

Caroline's Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was such a fabulous, angsty, hot read!

”I wanted to be his everything. I wanted to be his chocolate ice cream, the one thing he wanted more than anything else.”

All her life, Bexley Black has always wanted to be somebody’s first choice. When the love of her life made a misstep and didn’t do that when she was twenty, she ran away from him. She not only broke his heart, she also broke her own. Ten years later, she’s a single mother with two young kids when her path crosses with his, again. It’s obvious he holds a grudge and wants to make her as miserable as he was. However, there’s no denying the feelings that still burn hot between them.

”Ten f*cking years away from this and my heart still slammed in uneven beats with desperation. I want her.”

Ryan Prince got over Bexley by getting under lots and lots of other women. He buried his hurt and moved on with his life and now he’s a Hollywood heartthrob with a playboy reputation. When he sees Bexley again, he realises that he’s been fooling himself for ten years. When he meets her children…that she had with another man…he’s a goner. No matter how hard he tries to keep his distance, he is inexorably drawn to her. But, at what cost?

”We were trying to tear each apart, and whatever was left in the end would be the remnants we’d use to move forward.”

God, I loved this story! Bexley and Ryan had so much baggage sitting slap-bang in between them. Their lives were in such different places but all they ever really wanted was each other. As twenty-year-olds, I think neither of them dealt with their situation very well. My heart hurt that they had wasted ten years without each other, but I think they both needed to grow and mature. Plus, Bex wouldn’t have had those adorable kids. Their journey to their HEA was wrought with distrust, misconstrued conclusions and judgements, and stubbornness instead of communicating properly and transparently. At times, I felt gutted for them both, as they stumbled along their journey. On an intimate level, they had no issue whatsoever. They were pretty freakin’ hot together! *fans self* I also adored Ryan’s sweetness and adoration of Bex’s kids, Cole and Bella. He was just so natural and fun with them. I struggled to put this book down and thought the ending was wonderful! Thoroughly recommend!
