I've been waiting for Anna Kulis and Mason Becker's story since the first book in this gorgeous series, and I think the author did their story justice. We follow both Anna and Mason as they and their friend-family go through the loss of Ben, Anna's husband, and then grieve for him in the aftermath of his death, whilst they all try and move forward with their lives. I think the author dealt with the whole thing with sensitivity and compassion. She portrayed Anna and Mason's growing relationship and love without diminishing the love Anna had for Ben. There was tension, denial, incredible desire, and raw emotion. I loved every bit of this story and I was rooting for Mason all the way. He got right under my skin with his struggles. I felt his love, desire, and despair. He was so much more than the flirty player we all first met, and I loved watching Anna's realisation of this as Mason helps her to care for Ben through his final months, and then be there for them after his death. He was a man with so much love to give that I just wanted to give him my heart on a platter! Anna's feelings were a mass of contradictions. Her grief, her resentment, her attraction, her guilt, her jealousy. I felt such relief when she finally made up her mind to accept Mason properly into her life.
